Dog bite need advice

It could be that this guy really just has a hurt dog that he wants to give treatment to, and he hopes will be ok. Things like this can happen without it being a scam. The guy never once said you have to pay for anything; so far, all he has asked for are vet records, which is not totally unreasonable.
Its wait and see.

It is very unlikely that the vet would send you a bill. He/she was not there at the time of the injury and will expect the owner of the injured animal to pay the fee for services renedered. The vet will not want to get in the middle of this situation legally or financially.
In our state, and yours could be different, I am required to report any real or suspected animal bites (domestic or wild) to my local animal control agency and then they determine any liability after talking with all the parties in question.
IMHO, while Oscarduece is correct...anyone can sue anyone about anything...
you should have little problem defending your position.

I skimmed then skipped all together to say this. I had a dog bite a teenage girl. I did provide record of the dog having shots so the girl didn't have to get any but the cops told me that because my dog was not only on a leash, but tied to a tree, that I was not responsible in any way. Had the dog been off the leash or even if I was holding the leash, then I coulda been in trouble, but he was properly restrained so there was no fault on my end.
I hope it all goes well for you now.
