Emperor Angel dying.... need urgent ATTENTION

Hi Beth,
The brookynella is wiping out my tank at lightning rate. I found my naso tang and one nemo were down. Heavy breathing.
The yellow tang, 2 GSMs are covered with white slime now.
So, if I am able to get the formalin by tomorrow (Sunday). Should I treat all fish altogether in a bucket bath for 45 mins, then take them
to some newly setup hospital tanks? But, after second treatment, which will be on Tuesday, should I do 100% water change to all
QTs before returning the fish back as the water in QT already has the disease. And likewise on Thursday, after third treatment,
do 100% water change again?
Please elaborate.
thank you so much..

PS> I have a feeling that it will be a total loss.

Eek! Sorry to hear this terrible news guru. This is the prime example of why having a QT ready for back up at all times is extremely necessary. When my clowns were acting funny and I was under the impression they had ick or brook I placed them into my 60 gallon QT. Always good to have a tank that is at least half the size of your main tank. I hope everything works out for you though.

I'm really sorry to hear this....BUT this is what eventually happens when you overstock a tank :( everything looks great for a while then BAM!!!!! one little sickness hits them all because they are living stressed all the time
again...I am soooo so sorry.....

I'm sorry but earlier in the thread did you say a water change every three months. Does everyone wait that long. That seems crazy to me, I do a 30 gal. change in my 135 every week and a half. My fish seem to need and appreciate it after that amount of time. I also have a 3'x2'x2' sump with a skimmer and uv sterilizer.

Hi everyone.
Thank you for all your great effort in helping me through this hard time.
I learned a lot. My fish and tank is now stable. I will stay with small fish and keep stocking low.

I'm sorry for your losses - but beware if you've had a parasite outbreak that claimed those - be very wary that you do not loose the rest of them. Speaking from exp.

If you did have a parasite my suggestion would be to medicate them in a quarantine tank. I had a parasite in my tank and I left it completely empty of fish for a month and that did the trick. The parasite can not continue to reproduce without fish. It makes for a long moth but I am glad that I did it. I generally do not trust any medications that are "safe" for reef or even live rock to completely eradicate the problem.
