Fire's Coming This Way

One of the fires they been talking about here in Az is 2 miles from my house. State is calling for forced evacuation. Well, no such thing as "forced evacuation". I'll stay and watch the show.

Uh, it's now within a mile. I'm not sure about this. That damn fire is moving super fast. I'll keep you updated.

It's within a half mile. I've always said evacuations are for sucks, but we can now feel the heat and are choking on the smoke. Maybe we should leave.

OK, I feel like a girly man. We got a huge wind from the south and the fire went due north. I had a bunch of crap in the truck. Time to start unpacking. They still want us to evacuate, but no point now. If there's a bizarre wind change I guess it could come this way, but it's pushed about 2 miles north. I climbed on my roof and saw 6 houses the next road over go up. It really is sad. Now what were we saying about gun control?

My wife is still packing crap. She says she's going to be prepared. What's a little(er huge) wildfire anyways? Evacuating is for sucks!

Wow, that was really dodging a bullet. If that strong south wind hadn't blown in suddenly, I'd probably be looking at the metal frame under my wobbly box.

Of course my good fortune came at the expense of 15-20 houses that burned just north of us. If you have never seen a wildfire in 30-40 mph winds, it's hard to explain. It just moves so fast. I was laughing it off until the fire moved a mile in like 10 minutes. Then there would be big black puffs of smoke and another house would erupt. I really feel for those poor people. I can't find my usb but I have ordered another. Can't wait to post the pictures.

I just remembered the pics are on my SD card-DUH! I can't figure out how to link them. I get a message that "a path cannot be found".
