Fire's Coming This Way

I would appreciate if you guys would put your fires out already. Your damn smoke keeps filling my skyline and blocking my view of the mountains every evening.
I bought a house with a view and you are screwing it up. I smell a lawsuit...of wait, that is just smoke.

We have to drive 50 miles to get to Sierra Vista, which is normally a 18 mile drive. The fire just jumped containment again and is barreling toward a heavily populated area just south of Sierra Vista. The wind is 30 mph with 50 mph gusts today. The planes and helicopters have just been grounded. There is now nothing but the roads separating the fire from the main town in our area. This could be a tragic day.

A BP and Forest Service agents said last night that the fire was arson set on the border by smugglers. They have been ordered not to say that publicly. They both said because illegal immigration is such a sensitive subject that they don't want to have anti-immigrant sentiment stirred up. How about we no longer tell the truth about bank robbers so as not to stir up anti-robber sentiment? How about because of the animosity against pedophiles we no longer report molestation? America has gone crazy.

I get so fed up with the coddling the dumbass illegals. If I ever when the lottery I am buying land along the border and starting a sanctuary for retired fighting dogs and an alligator farm.

I liked Pat Buchanan's comment about it back in the 80's when they were talking about building a trench. "Why leave the job half done? Fill it with water and stock it with Parana and alligators".

So, are you out of the woods for now?
Its amazing how AZ gets trashed because of its stance on illegal activities. Whatever happened to backing "your own".

Yeah, the fire took a sudden turn north. Good for us out here in BFE, but unfortunately headed for a much higher population density. We are still under a voluntary evacuation order, but the fire put a mile wide buffer between us and the main fire.

Hey Mantis, you're right down the road then. I'm over here off of I-19 where the fires were just on the other side of the highway last week. They're nice to look at when they're that far away, but when you start to see the high flames actually moving reality sets in quick. Glad to hear you're all right. Someone said the other day that about 40 houses were lost the other day.

Last count was 48. In Idaho and here I have seen a lot of wildfires in the distance. So I really was unconcerned until the flames and smoke was shooting like a rocket straight at us.

the reason for asking homeowners to leave is not just for your safety .but if the fire hits your house the responders have then to deal with homeowners.there is nothing a homeowner can do it the fire gets the their house except get in the way.a garden hose will do absolutely nothing.wind change will actually hurt fighting the fire.if we know what direction it is going we can get ahead of it.when the wind changes its like getting caught with your pants down.all the trucks and equipment is down wind.more than likely if it kept coming your way there would have been trucks to save your house but since it shifted north there was nobody around to save those houses.very dangerous when the wind changes direction.
glad your home was spared .
