Fostering a pet

Its probably a good idea for transition that new owners would visit and play with her a few times in order to let her feel secure with new family, if you're up for that.
However, with the food you're giving her......I'm afraid she may get too spoiled to leave your house! Does she get checked by vet before you get her as foster family? I'm thinking maybe she has dental problem which explain not eating hard foods.

She will go the the vet Thursday for a check up and vaccinations.....HOPEFULLY if she is strong enough she will be spayed Friday.....then we will go from there
I bought her some soft dog food today....this hot dog thing is not going to continue forever...LOL....I may add a little crunchy in with it to see how she does
She may go out of state...I'm not sure yet. I think they have a transport to the East Coast leaving some time next week....Apparently we are over run with dogs....and they are not
IDK

I'm taking Lucy to the vet tomorrow for a check-up and vaccinations.....she actually ate a little dry food this morning. I bought her some soft food, and gave it to her with her medicine in it.....then added the juice into the dry food and she ate some...BUT that tells me she can chew...LOL
IF she checks out okay....which I think she will.....she will go to the spay/neuter clinic on Friday........THEN she will be available to be adopted

So will she be traveling somewhere else, or will she get internet adopt a dog advertising?

I'm not sure Beth....this is my first time doing this...
I do know they try to transport out of state as much as possible.....it costs like $175 per dog....and from what I was told the adopter pays that...
They also do an extensive home study.....LOL....I think they do a better one then some do for children :/
I'll let you guys know as this progresses.....this is new to me.....and I will only do what is best for Lucy.....she is such a sweet dog

LUCY had an excellent report at the dr today.....NO worms, NO infections, NO fever, weighs 10.2 lbs (average is 11)
SOOO Friday I will take her to the clinic where she will receive vaccinations and be spayed...then after she heals she will formally be placed on the adoption list

For the rabies vacination get the longest possible. they come in 1 year, 3 year, and 5 year. Little known fact, they are the exact same dose...so get the five year.
This way when you decide to keep the hot dog you wont have to vaccinate for several years.

I actually do believe that you're not going to keep her, but I wish you would. Only because I know she is bonding, getting used to your family, feeling safe for the first time, and another scary change that she doesn't understand will effect her psychologically.
Is that laying it on thick enough?

I know.....all of that is in my mind too......
I'm also trying to keep in my mind that there is a perfect home for her.....and if I keep her I would not be able to ever help another animal

Actually, the only thing that concerned me about the dog going to another family is that the shelter wants to transport the dog out of state. Is that to another shelter, or the permanent family?
That part is going to be rough.

We said the same thing about 4 pets ago.
You just saved that little dog. And whether you realize it not are bonded for life now in her eyes. And look, the pug already likes her.

Yeah....let all guilt meowzer. LOL
I think the adoption would be fine....its the transition that's the hurdle.

The transport is not definite.....they WILL transport if we can not find a closer home
I just have to see what happens....IDK what I will end up doing until it comes down to it I guess :(
