Looking good. Nice job on the sump. I use the same design and make all my sumps, saves a huge chunk of change. So when do you start filling it up? and what types of corals?

i have about 8 coral frags in my 125DT that is sittin on the sand waiting for the tank to be filled. i do like the design on the sump also. i am waiting on sand that i purchased for the sump and DT to come in. i payed for it on 8/28 and its now 9/11. i bought it on the bay. money was taken out of my account and never got it. i will give it till friday then im callin pay pal. so not really sure when its going to be filled.

funny thing is i am chocking the hell out of him. his head is almost 2 feet long and def doesnt play soft. so i have to be rough with him.
the tank is lookin good so far. i am looking at adding a 70w halide with the 150w of VHO. may be overkill but will be well worth it.

Yeah, Germans are fun dogs. Wish I had the space for a large dog myself...
I think your lighting will be great on that tank. I think I'm having an issue with the lighting on my frag tank actually. Not sure if its the bulbs or what but my corals seem to look physically different (not colors but texture) in my frag tank under the used PC's than my display with the T5's. You have any thoughts on this?

It mostly has zoas in it, and I do see some new growth but the polyps dont seem to come out quite as much and seem to be losing color. They also dont grow in diameter what I get on my T5's. My levels are all good and match my display tank to the best of my ability. Any idea what might be going on?
Guess I could move this over to my thread... Sorry for taking up yours.

no worries. T5's might be putting out better lighting so your frag tank lights just might not be as strong.

Alright i have an update, painting when great. i painted the sides but not where the overflow is. i just thought it would look cool if my friends could see the water pouring over the baffle and down the stockman standpipe.
did a wet run, all is good. had only one problem. i drilled a bunch of small holes in the baffles so a little extra water would go into the stock man chambers. but it back fired the water would not keep filling the tank. it stayed at the level of the holes. so i drained it and used black sili to plug the holes.
and ill tell ya, i wasnt sure how a Via Aqua 2300 (609gph) would do as a sump pump return. it works great. i used pvc and drilled holes to make a spray bar. works fantastic!!!!! here are some pics of the tank painted, also tommorow ill give another update how the wet run went.

since the tank is being overhauled heres the rest of the plans fit. i have two VHO bulbs, two maxijet 1200, in there now.
here is what is going to be added.
replace the maxi jets with two hydor koralia nano's
change both VHO bulbs to new actinics
add a coralife power strip
add a 70w 10,000k retro fit halide
and a fan built into the side of the canopy
i as of this past friday purchased 120 lbs of fiji white live sand for the tank. this will give me a nice DSB in the DT, also i have alot of sand already for the DSB for the fuge, but i only bought this much sand for a future bigger frag tank. makes sense to me.
