Mollies do very vell in saltwater. They grow in size much faster and the grow larger, in addition, for some reason they produce more fry much more frequently than in freshwater.

Great minds think alike....I'm going to purchase 3 this coming weekend. I did a search and found alot of people have kept these with horses and the horses can eat the newborn fry as a treat

I just acclimated 3 - 2 creamcicle lyretails and 1 black lyretail yesterday....The black has been eating but hiding but the yellows are actually eating diatoms off the sand

wow.. thats pretty cool actually! didnt know you could do that with mollies! I had a few when I was starting out in freshwater, and I knew they liked some salt... very interesting tho!

I really want a black fish for my SW tank, but don't like bangaii cardinals, and most of the black fish aren't worth the money to me.
Sooo, I could go to the petstore, and get a black molly and add him, correct?
Also, would it affect the bioload the same way as a SW fish would? I don't see why not, but I intended on adding 1 more fish (midas blenny), which was going to be my 7th and last in a 46 gallon tank.
But now i'm considering adding a black molly before my blenny.
Does thta sound OK?
I have a skimmer, 45 lbs LR, canister filter, adn i'm going to make a fuge soon.

go for it! i wanted to add black fish too! but now that i added them... i saw a midnight black angel (SW) it was soooo cool!!!

Mine are going to town on the algae on my sand and now there working on my rocks
but boy do they poop alot !!!!!! I thought seahorses were bad
