The acclimation is not sufficient. A 3 hour drip acclimation is required. It is possible it was dying at your LFS. NEVER impulse purchase a seastar. It takes a lot of looking around and asking questions of your LFS, specifically as to their specific gravity.
Thank you for the information. I don't inpulse buy. We have an online store right down the road so I look at their stock and then read up on it. My husband, however, does like to impulse buy. We have had a few arguements on this subject. I am sorry the poor star fish suffered the bad decision. I don't think I will ever get another one but if I do I will remember to acclimate it as you stated. Thanks for the info.
