so I went through the bucket o powerheads all but 3 worked so I'm in good shape there. I have 2 pumps that will work as returns, that way if one fails the other keeps circulating.

slight change of plans for the weekend, My wifes father is dying of pancreatic cancer and this weekend he took a turn for the worse so all plans are off and we are waiting for the"shoe to drop"... so little will be done on the tank. sorry guys.

Sorry to hear of the family issues.
Gonna tag along here. Can't help with the SE bulbs, but always liked the lookand the coral coloration when using the 20k Radiums in the 150 watt DE's

Tank can definitely wait. Family is way more important. Take care of yourself and your family. You'll be In my prayers.

so i took stock of my wood materials I have kicking around and I do have enough to build the stand the way I want. thank goodness. I didn't want lumber to cut into my all-too scarce budjet for this build. I will probably do the tear down this weekend providing there are no un-forseen complications.

thanks anyone else have any preferences?
I have preferences, but it's up to you man... like Spanko said, 15k for growth, 20k for color. Right now with my new ATI T5 bulbs on my system, I'm getting a color temp of about 15k.
