I got drain plumbing cut and ready this morning now just to glue it in place. I need to clean out the old sump tank first since it still has lr drudge in it from the last batch of LR it held. the complexity of my sump design will blow all your minds I promise... baffeless, told you it would be mind blowing. I was going to cut baffels and do all kinds of things but I realized all it does is lock me into one setup or rather limit my options on changing it in the future easily... I have run baffeless sumps before and I will do so again... lol

got the drain plumbed, simplistic, next I need to set up some egg crate for the benthic zone in the sump.

Here is a tentative plan for my under sand flow pipes or in tank closed loop if you will the pipes angled in will be upright and capped drilled elbowed to direct flow as I want it. was just playing around killing time before work this morning

Lookin' good!
Tell me more about this "in tank closed loop." Sounds intriguing. Your idea, or did you see this done before?

basicly I am going to put one big powerhead on it to provide lower flow at a lot of areas instead of using 6 smaller powerheads. same Idea as your classic closed loop only using a submersible powerhead instead of an external.. can't remember if this is something I thought of or if some one else inspired me into it. I would have to say though its probably been done before.
