On the bright side, the horses are doing amazing. I'm getting ready to film me feeding them for a demo speech for a course I'm taking.
I'm just sooooooooooo frustrated with the 55. I have spent a ton of money on that tank and for what????
I always thought seahorses were these delicate little things, but they turned out to be hardy tough little buggers.
My 90g was giving me the same grief your 55g is. When I finally did get the corals going good, the heater exploded and killed nearly everything. I wanted to replace what I lost and added up the cost....$1500.00, that's how much it would cost just to replace with the exact same stuff (size wise) and I wasn't wanting to go back to looking at tiny frags in a big tank for years agian... I never rebuilt the reef after that, and after looking at the survivers for months....(I still had super GSP, a yellow frilly, some purple stubby finger, and zoa)...I compleatly changed direction, and went with pot belly seahorses and macroalgae.
I not only had coral grief, but equipment germlins liked to hang at my place....I think Meowzer lives with their brothers, something is always not working right or breaking down for no good reason.
I'm not saying go for pots, but maybe try something else you might like. I went for the pot belly horses because seahorses gave me joy instead of constant grief. I still love the look of coral, but I also love the interesting different macros I have discovered....there is more than just chaeto or caulerpa....LOL
Sadly the gremlins are still hanging around, I just got my skimmer back on line and now one of my power heads is tripping the GFCI outlet.
