Hurry up and get your mantis already
JK
We got our second one today, and the addiction continues
Now we have two mantis tanks (N. Wennerae moved to the 12 gallon nano, and the O. Scyllarus). Once I take pics I will have to post on a different thread. Hope you are feeling better

) i actually took pics yesterday but my dad was doin something with the electric and the computer was off all day. its ok cause the pics suck any way.

hows your N. wennerae???? active????

Monty (the Wennerae) isn't all too active. He kind of pokes his head out of different holes like a whack-a-mole, and you can see dust storms every now and then, but other than that, he's not all to active. He's still fun to watch though. Now that we moved him into the smaller tank, he made yet another new home, and we are having a hard time seeing him...go figure he picks a spot like that
. Boy do I have some stories about these two though...once I get batteries for my camera (just died today) I am going to start a thread complete with pics and stories

yup, #013......i was told that the most active of the N. wennerae were #'s 7,8,13,and14( i was told that #'s 7and 8 frequently swim to the surface when the humans approach the tank). i just really like the colors of #13......and from the picture it seems to me that he has a little bit of an attitude
i hope so or im gonna be mad hahaha.

#13 is a very nice choice
I really like how they can tell you the personalities of each mantis. Makes it nice so that you know what you are getting. He does look like he is copping a bit of a 'tude

he just got here!!!!! yay!!!!! he is temp acclimating for 15 minutes.....then im gonna drip acclimate him for about an hour. he is bigger than i expected....on the stomatopod site it said he was an inch long.....he looks more like 1 1/2- 2 inches....makes him easier to see
when i first got him the bag was a little cool and he was sluggish but i think after temp acclimating he'll be good. ill take some pics when i drip acclimate him
the hole in the rock that i had for him was appropriate for a 1 inch mantis but now i dont know if he'll fit
none of the other rocks are that pourouse so i might need to add a new rock

he already began smashing apart a little nass. snail and chipped off the back part of the shell but he didnt get it yet. he gave up for a little while and moved on to a large margarita snail for a little with no success. for now he just kinda chills in his burrow but he is trying to smash snails already so i think that is a good sign that hell be active

what do ya think???

I love his coloring!!! He is sooo cool
I can't believe he is already trying to smash snails and he just got in there. I guess Death Smasher was even more appropriate than I thought
When Monty first came he was really sluggish too when we were temp. acclimating him, but once we started drip acclimating him, he perked right up, so I'm sure it's normal with shipping and all. Welcome home Death Smasher
