Could I mix a cleaner with maybe 2 pepps? That's what I would like to do if possible.
I'm jealous you have such an awesome fish :p . Does yours watch you? Haha. I'm regretting taking him off my stock list but is better for my firefish I think...and especially if the blenny i get is small. How is yours in terms of aggressiveness?

I'll post lots of pics later tonight once I have the 'work' camera.

That tank is gonna look fantastic when those zoos start growing in! I really like the look of your lighting too; those blues really make the coral colors pop.
My cousin has a similar size bowfront; they're nice tanks! Wish I could find the room (and convince The Wife) for another tank....

thank you! yeah I can't wait for everything to start growing...but that takes patience...which i dont have alot of
lol. The picture doesnt give the lighting justice at all...its so much more crisp (and a tad whiter) in person. I would recommend the combo to anyone for sure...its kinda like in the 20K range...maybe 18K.
the bowfronts are pretty nice...but they do distort pictures and even viewing some. I still like mine though cause it magnifies everything.

so I noticed for a while now that there are a lot of baby snails in my tank. I know that one of my ceriths lays eggs all the time so can that be where they are coming from...or are they one of those helpful hitchhikers? They look to be the same shape of a cerith but a tad blacker of a shell. I actually hope they keep reproducing cause my stupid hermits attack the larger snails all the time so at least now these little guys are replacing the killed ones.
also, all those new frags I got are doing really well. I finally noticed the candy canes feeder tentacles that come out every night...really cool. I'm on the hunt for some new types of coral now...pretty much open for anything except SPS right now (need more experience first) so does anyone have suggestions for really awesome looking coral that they like?

I got the sump hooked up! Its working great so far despite a few problems.
1) the water thats been sitting in there didnt have any calcium so my calcium got lowered overall. all other params are perfect though!
2) this is the one I need help on...ALOT. my overflow, both the box and the pipe in the sump, are making noise. I'm fine with it but its still kinda annoying. I have a durso standpipe in the overflow which is making a gurgling sound echoing out of it that wont go away unless i close the air hole all the way up. Problem with that is then my standpipe does the flushing thing again. I also have a bubble trap in the sump but bubbles are still popping and thats kinda annoying too. any help...PLEASE!

ugh I need some help guys...
first off, the mushroom frag i got from my LFS had aiptasia on it and i didnt realize till after it spread...and now its on my candy apple zoas and i can't get rid of them.
second, I also have some of those zoa eating nudis...i sucked as much off the zoas as I could...any advice on how to get rid of them for good?
third, one of the zoas frags just melted away...literally overnight...any ideas on that?

first....for the aptasia....Joes Juice has worked well for me, and it comes with a syringe so you can get it (mostly) on the aptasia and nothing else
2. Try a lugols dip......and pick off as you have been doing....I would take the colony out...hopefully they did not spread
3. I have had zoas melt before....some just don't acclimate well I guess

thanks meowzer.
I will have to go to my LFS and pick some up...im pretty sure they sell it there. The aiptasia are really tiny right now so when I tried squirting lemon juice in them it didnt exactly work out...and i accidentally sucked them up into the plastic syringe thing i was using lol. the good news is that, at least for now, the candy apples are all open again and doing well.
i inspected all zoa frags for the nudis...the only ones that they were on were the candy apples and the king midas. the candys seem better but the midas' are still not opening so looks like i should dip the all frags to be safe.
the zoas melting was so weird to me...yesterday i was like yay look at how fast they are spreading off the frag...to today where its like...WTF...where did they all go!? lol...one of the few polyps left oozed this red stuff out of it...idk

Could the zoas have fallen off the frag plug?? I have had that happen before too :(
Lemon juice or the boiling water never worked for me
...besides peppermint shrimp (which I can't keep in the 54G cause of the flame hawk) Joe's Juice has killed every one. The 54G is the only tank I have them in..YAY...well....you know what I mean LOL

lol
i know they didnt fall. its so weird to me how they died tho. its like yesterday they were saying "yay we're so happy" to today where they are like "ahhh we're melting!"
maybe i should try some peps too...since i wanted to put some in the tank anyways
