Golf pro kills red shouldered hawk

his defense will be he didn't mean to hit the bird... i mean, they can't be THAT precise hitting the ball that at 75 yards he could hit the darn thing.
it is very sad the bird died, but that's crazy accuracy to be able to hit the bird.

These pro golfers are that good...they know the trajectory of all their clubs.
Bobby Jones was an incredible golfer back in the 20s and 30s. He has some old black and white instruction lessons on video that he filmed. They are so good they are still aired today and have valuable insight into the golf swing.
Anyways on one of these lesson tapes they set up a camera about 150 yards in front of Bobby. Off of the fairway with a low iron he starts hitting balls at the camera. You see one go just left of the camera, one go just right of the camera, and the third hits the lens dead on. He had that accuracy with the inferior balls and equipment of 70 years ago a half decent pro today knows what he is doing.

I dont see his defense working...it says in the article that he hit about 10 balls before actually hitting it...i dont see how you can hit 10 balls at the bird and then say " i didnt mean to hit it"...

Whether he meant to hit it or not isn't much of a defense strategy anyway... The important thing is, he did and it killed it.
Idiot. I'd love to see him get some jail time for that.

x2. If you don't know what animals are protected, don't go around killing them. Much like if you don't know the rules of the road, you shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car.

Great, they can release a crack dealer or child molestor to make room for him

Fine the guy and be done with it. Lesson learned and example set. Next time use an air horn to scare the bird away.

Lol, no way.
I'm all for making prisoners serve full sentences; if there is not enough space, put them to work building more...

Its a federally endangered bird. Do you not understand what that means? Every individual is important to the survival of the population. In taking just one bird, he has hurt the species. He is a moron and deserves jail time and a fine. Make an example of him. And if he had done the same to a crow I think he would still be deserving of animals cruelty charges. Heaven forbid an animal do what it knows to do.
