You sound like the guy in the commercial that dreads going to Disney with his family, then the next shot, you see the guy on a roller coaster with a hugh grin on his face. When does school start in your area? My kids go back to school the third week of August. Your wife probably got a pretty good deal, since September is in the middle of hurricane season, and most schools aroung the country have already started. Now if it's Labor Day weekend, sucks to be you.

Also, remember you have a perk for staying at an 'On Site' resort. You have free shuttle service to all the parks, and you should have days where you get into a specific park one hiour before it officially opens to the public. If I recall, they do it at Magic Kingdom on Sunday or Monday, MGM on Tuesday, Epcot on Wednesday, etc. You'll have to look at the schedule when you get there. If i were you, I'd avoid Magic Kingdom like the plague. That park is geared towards kids 5 - 10, and it reeks Disney. After a day there, I want to pull my hair out anytime i hear the "It's A Small World" song. Make sure and go to Epcot and ride 'Space'. If your wife is prone to motion sickness, stick her on that puppy, and you won't have to worry about going back to Disney again.

Better yet, scrap Disney and go to Universal Studios. The thrill rides at their two parks are 10 times better than Disney's (especially at Islands Of Adventure). They're also opening a new Harry Potter Theme area that is suppose to blow you away.
Oh, I'm all about the rides. But last time, nobody would ride with me. I remember going on the Aerosmith ride all by myself, and that haunted hotel thing with the elevator that went up/down (really cool). I just hate all the heat, the crowds with all the mickey mouse eared kiddos running everywhere, etc.
My kids will already be back in school, but they have 3 days off at the end of September, so we would pull them out a day early and that gives us Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, and leave on Sun.

Now that would be fun. I didn't even look to see what that would cost me, I'm sure it's a pretty penny
The two basic packages ($495/$595) are one session of 8 laps, which pretty much leave you in disappointment you didn't get a better package. The "Experience of Lifetime" is the one to get which is $1299. 3 sessions, 30 laps.

Really the 15 year old doesn't go on the rides too? Being so tall so young (I was over 5' in elem.) I got to ride the big boy rides when no one else could.
Yea, I was gonna mention it, but it's A.) too late and b.) what you said above, but Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, is the better park if you guys are more into rides. But Disney actual has affordable resorts and more parks overall.
End
of September?? My birthday is the 30th, might be in Orlando to my 25th up right.

He will this time. Last time he was just a lad so he was too small, and his Mom was too chicken (but giving her credit, someone did have to stay back to watch the kiddos)

I've gone to the parks the last 4 years but I have younger kids. If my kids were older, I would go to Universal, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, water parks and maybe gatorland. MGM is a maybe and magic kingdom is really for kiddies. I love universal personally. Buy your tix online before you go if you want to save money to universal.

i will say, universal, had a tunnel, that you could walk through, and when they'd open the tunnel. They'd turn on these giant pumps, that would shoot a wall of water around the tunnel. So it looked like you were walking though a tunnel of water. (and it was ALOT of water. I've made it my goal in life to have a fishtank that would require one of those pumps....
