Thanks everyone, he looked beautiful at the LFS - he was swimming around a lot - was not piking at the other fish or anything, to tell you the truth i went to buy 3 anthias but they didn't look too great, then I saw this guy, spectacular colors - I am going to have to put eggcrate on the 65 now. Now I have a question I never QT'd anything should I watch him for a while, then if I suspect anything start a hypo? His head is a beautiful magenta I can't wait to see him in the 65 reef.

just slow acclimate him man...spec if he was spendy lol
I and i dont think meowzer QT....we prob should though lol!
I just tb a lil of my water into the bag over and hr or so....like every 5-10min! After temp acclimating of course! Also i use one of those large black paper clips to hold the bag to the tank rim!
On another note u can cut a large piece of the middle of the eggcrate out so it wont diffuse the light so much....if u dont have coral i guess it dont matter! LOL
When most fish are scared and go to jump...its cuz the swim into the sides of the tank and no where to go but up! So imo only a trim or rim of eggcrate is needed...

DO you have a qt already set up? If so, you should keep it in there at least 2 weeks and watch it....if not....well......I don't have a qt...doesn't mean I don't recommend one

Actually I drip acclimated him for about three hours - I use a piece of airline hose with a small valve on it, it seems to work really well

He looks great, Al. He will be an awesome addition to the 65.
Thanks Gemmy - i know there are a lot of expensive fish out there - this is the most I have ever spent on a fish - Can't wait to see him in the 65 yes.

I have had a GT 20 gallon long set up for a couple of weeks - I took some media out of the reef set up and put it in a HOB aqua clear 50 - there are actually two of them on the QT. Keep our fingers crossed

Well i just checked on him before I go to bed, he is hidding in the corner behind an ABS fitting, he looks good - he is perched with his head up and his breathing looks normal. He looked to see if there was some food being added to the tank.

I am so glad to hear that we are not the only ones that don't have a QT. I thought we were breaking some SWF.com forum law by not having one! LOL!:flame:

LOL...it's not a "law" BUT it is a good idea to have one....To tell you the truth, if I were to start over again I would seriously re-think things....I have been very lucky (KNOCKS ON WOOD) that I got fish that had no ich or any other disease for that matter....I have read TOO MANY threads wher others were not.

That is fine, no QT - and I hope you never get ich or anything else, but if you do you will swear by it - especially after you have to catch all your fish in your tank.

I do not think I would do it without a QT, I would sit and worry about something getting into my DT. I have a 29g QT, and I hope like you Meowzer that I will be lucky, I was with the 2 clowns I have and hope that I will be with other addition.

Got home today the new fish was happily swimming around in the QT - feed him some mysis and he ate. Tried to get some shots but he moves around a lot. maybe later I didn't want to stress him too much. I noticed his tail had a split, he didn't have this at the LFS.
