We got over a foot of rain last night. Me and my wife both got struck by lightning. Not a direct hit but enough to make us both throw our laptops off our laps. We didn't have power last night but its on now. I had to break out the power inverter off the car to keep the tank running. Here is the store up the rd.

How did you get struck in the house???/
We both had them plugged into the chargers. Guess it travelled in on the power cord. Nothing electronic got messed up and I'm typing on the laptop that it happened on. Go figure? lightning is a funny thing.

I was backing out of my driveway once, and lightning struck at the end of our driveway, lit up the whole rear window of my truck. What was funny however, is that nothing in our house was really messed up, however our neighbor over 100 feet away lost everything electronic.

We haven't had it as bad as you have, but man this has been a lot of rain. It's crazy how much water is everywhere. My yard is full of standing water. Luckily we are on a hillside so I don't think I have too much flooding risk to worry about.
Lots of people are out of work today with flooded basements.

Just be carefull its not over yet
. My parents and I both live on hills and got water in our basements. It was just from the rediculous amount of runoff. Their reporting Paulding got 16 inches of rain

LOL I'm a whitewater kayaker so I have it handled. I've been trying to talk myself out of hitting up some local creeks this morning.

Thats the Chattooga. Its the river the movie Deliverence was filmed on. If you look at pic 85 there is a kayaker running it. It is running twice the highest recommended flow to paddle on it.

No kidding. I just spent the last half hour standing in waist high water pulling pinestraw out of the storm drains to keep my building from flooding.
This is outrageous.

No worries! I've almost finished building my arc. If you'll come on up and help me move my 125g reef onto it. I'll give you a cabin on board!!!

Last numbers I seen for Paulding county (Where Jetskiking and I live) we have recieved around 18" in the last 24 hours..
Heres a few pic I snapped off the news here of the dam of a lake failing at my former bosses house.. FEMA has been on site and are sure it will fail totally soon

worse part is.. His driveway to the house runs along the top of the dam also..

Also keep in mind that the little culvert going down to that waterwheel is only like three foot wide and normally empty. I just heard there are 66 roads closed in paulding county and somewhere around 40 in Douglas.
