thanx Peef=P i try lol
Thanx Subielover thats thew whole point of this tank to make it my own and not copy off everyone

well for the record i still only have 1 hermit 2 snails and a urchin
in the tank, so peef i will be getting them but i'll wait a bit longer=P
As for the tank its doin great the algae that u see on the rockz is starting to get over taken by the purple and is decreasing but that algae started on the good rockz first and now there is algae on the other white ones, but i know its just a a natural thing and it will be gone sooner or later=P, as a side note the pod population is so strong now that no matter where u look u can spot at least 2 lol and there are big ones that are everywhere and are chasing each other(they learned there is nun in the tank hunting them lol), they even swim around lmao so all the little snow flakes floating around are them

sorry guyz i try to update but really busy now(school, work).
but i got my first corals also Wednesday it consisted of 6 things and i think i will loose 50/50

right from the start when i got my coral from a friend(got shipped from FL, the bag that had the Armor of God pally leaked and had no water so he was flat as a sheet of paper(so far he hasn't opened once yet i hope he makes it) while i got 6 other zoos on a rock that where fine 15mins after they were put in.
then i got a Purple Digitata thats doin great opened up all its polyps and so far is great, then i got a Bali slimmer which had some red slim in the bag so finally when it went into the tank it still hasn't shown one polyp so for 3 dayz so far no luck.
then i got a Ricordia thats doin great too=P i love it.
and last i got a purprle rim montipora that had slim/hair algae sort of on it out of the bag and after 2 dayz it kind of started to turn white(bleach) so i thought maybe the light so its like in the shade now and so far no improvement, i only tryed to gently clean the stuff off i didn't scrub it or any thing=(
i acclimated these over 2 hours u know adding then in bags to the tank for 15min to temp them, then adding a little water then throwing away half of the water then filling them again then adding them to the water making sure to throw the bag water away. also the first 8 hours i didn't turn on the lights then i only had them on for 4 hours and all the coral where at the bottom sort of in the shade/not the ric and the zoo's where not in the shade and they where fine. then i increasesd 1 hour over 2 dayz and so on so far only runnign at 5 hours.
I'll post pics soon if i can=P which me luck with my coral i hope they make it

sorry i'll try to get pics tomorrow but i was watching my tank and there is so many pods now that they have to be everywhere like my 6 healthy zoo's they actually bother them so much that they have to close up then open, and at night they have to stay shut b/c there r like 5 pods per polyp. im thinking i should at least borrow a mandarin.

Your pod population will die down on its own. They will come up in a spurt like that and then even off once the population equalizes itself to your bioload and tank ability. I bet your AOG paly will be fine. They (zoos and palys) can be out of water for up to 12 hours a day and be A-Ok. I only know this as in the canal outside of my house there is a huge population of them and they are out of the water every single tidal change and they still grow and grow and grow. My Monti bleached a tiny bit when I initially put it in the tank also but then freaken took off. So again I think that you will be fine there also if you just observe it and see where it is happiest. Looking forward to the pics!

k so after 6 hours of college class's i went to the petshop and i bought
1 electric hermit crab(a nice small one)
1 small shrimp idk what kind(pet owner had no idea too, came as a hitchhiker, it looks like a baby coral banded but also like a anemone shrimp, sort of glass like)
and i saw a small spotted mandarin i felt so bad it was in a 10 gallon and it has no stomach really thin, so i talked to the owner and stuff and got the mandarin for dirt cheap and i will return it b/c i rather have a flaming prawn goby.
k as soon as i got the mandarin in the tank he landed next to the zoo's and 30 sec later he started attacking the zoo's lmao it was crazy he spent over 15mins on my 6 zoo's pecking away, then i turned on my filter and he got pushed to another rock where he is still pecking at over 3 hours already.

wow the new shrimp i got is a idiot, so im doing some tank watching right before lights go out , so what do i see the little shrimp out in plane sight chasing the big pods and eating them.
so he goes up the backwall and then out of no where he uses his tail and swims right on top of the koralia powerhead so he gets stuck on the grills. im like omg so i run and pull out the plug to it. so it just walks off and goes back to the bottom so now the lights go out and the moonlights are the only thing that are giving off light.
So he starts picking here there and again decides to go up the tank so he gets up on a rock and decides hey lets go swimming again and he goes right into the sump intake(gets stuck on the grills) im like omg so i unplug my wavemaker and he gets off goes back to the bottom of the tank. k to make a long story short he gets stuck on the koralis powerhead 2 more times and thanx to me i save him. and then im watching him decide to go up the tank again and now im freaking out and i knock over my soda which is on the floor(so soda on the carpet so i pick it up and throw a towel on the wetspot.
I look over to the tank and now this is a small shrimp im lucky i observed him so long as a i did, now hes no where to be found=( im like wtf and then 2 mins later my pump in the sump starts to make a grinding noise, and i see the shrimps arm floating down onto a rock.
omg this little shrimp had to do this i had my koralia off and only one pump was on at a given time, im pissed and sad this will be a invert tank should i expect my other nicer shrimp try to do this like the sexy and anemone
shrimp

P.S. on a happy note when i was looking at the tank the mandarin was right in front looking so pretty it had its fins up and wasn't interested in food at all it looked like it was watching me or itself she then found a nice bed for her self and is just laying there(when she swims under the moon lights she looks so sick its beautiful.
Also my scarlet hermit and one snail are MIA i think my hermit probly killed the snail for its shell b/c i havn't seen them for a couple of dayz?

maybe the shrimp was just depressed and wanted to commit suicide ? I mean never know what a fish is going thru. But im sorry to hear about your loss. I try to save the livestock as well. Your tank looking better btw. Nice corals.

thanx yea i know the shrimp really pissed me off being as this will be a invert tank, well my AOG has melted away and i discovered what i think is a aiptasia anemone it was sort of under it and could of explained y it never opened in the first place, its sort of brownish but really small with like 4-5 thin tenicles. i took the plug out and threw it away.
Mandarin is doin good=P, when ever i come up to the tank she likes to swim up and show her self off, i love how she swims around with all her fins out sort of like a fairy.
scarlet is still MIA lol, im not surprized there is alot of stuff for the CUC to eat up. i only see my snails once in a while, as for the electric blue hes all the way up on the highest rock right near the opening to the sump, hes so cool i love how he just hangs up there eating the algae=P really looks nice under moonlights.

yea i guess everyone has to go threw some mistakes, and problems i just hope it gets better in the end

Edit: after work and school(in a row) i treated my self to another electric blue hermit.=P

Mandarin is doin fine as soon as i got home she swam up right to the front and was flirting with me, she has all her fins up and now she does this tail curve where she is striaght and curls her tail to the side(now im noticing she has some fatty marks on her tail and its looking nice and fat=
i hope she is geting enough food, her stomach is still sort of boxy shape i hope it starts to get a little curve in it too(i really don't know exaclty how a healthy healthy mandarin looks like lmao)
by the marks on the tail i mean it kind of scrunches, plus her colors are looking better and better by the day. i actually used to like the green mandarin over the spotted but that has changed now i think mine is Psychedelic=P

i did a full rang of tests today
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0(lmao i still can't belive it from all the algae hehe)
calcium 360-380
Ph is 8.3 (it could be 8.4 but hard to tell)
now get this it took me 5 drops to get the water to turn green/yellow for my Alkalinity test and i multiply that by 2.8 and i get a dkh of 14?????? y is it so high now?
i have Kent marine part A and B it says it helps to keep the DKH at 7-10 but in the little details it only says it help to raise the Alkalinity???? should i use it or no.
After doin some online reading people who have sps tanks and reef tank say that they have high alk too at like 16 and stuff and it has no negative affect on there corals or fish, my tank is lookin normal everything is lookin great but i would like to here from u guyz so help!!!!!!

shrimp's are weird, my 2 pepperment shrimp were in hiding for the first 3 week's, then they were every where in the tank and climbing over my watchman goby to the point I think he was trying to kill them. Them one had a bad molt and was crippled his leggs looked like they were on backwards,he couldn't even walk!! Then they gave birth twice. In the mean time I added a really nice fire shrimp who went directly into the LR and has not shown his face in 2 week's and now the pepperment shrimp have totally disappeared
crazy a%$ shrimp!! I have been able to get the fire shrimp to come out by placing some beefheart just outside the cave he is hiding in,so at least I can see him a little bit now and then. But the pepperment shrimp are MIA again
