I dont think he had a gun ban.I think what you are refering to is the assault weapon ban.That basiclly did nothing but cut the flash supresser off the end of the barrel.

I am all for the right to bear arms,, BUT WHY somebody would want or need a AK 47 or M16 not even for hunting or sport does not make any sense to me.

Actually an AR-15 is my preferred rifle for deer hunting. It's lightweight, has a low caliber bullet (.223), and is very accurate within 200 yards. I normally use a 5-round clip when I go Mule Deer hunting. When trying to take down a 230 lb. deer, I've had to sometimes take more than one shot at it. With my AR-15, I can squeeze off three rounds for every one a Bolt Action gun can shoot. The AR-15 is also very easy to maintain, and parts are readily available for it.
However, on the con side, this rifle can be used as an assault weapon as well. The lower receiver can be modified so that the gun can be used as a 'fully automatic' weapon. Install a 50-round clip, and it can be emptied in less than 10 seconds. Amazing to see what it can do to an old abandoned car in a field.

You don't just need to protect your home . You also need to protect your property from, trespassing hunters, city folks dumping their trash and pets on you,Schwans man and Jehovah witnesses....

I was just curious I have my ar15 already and I agree with the ban I have 2 30 rnd clips and it is massive fire power I hunt with mine legitimately just baught the 30's cause I could. criminals should not have them

The only answer that matters is "guns don't kill people, people kill people". I don't go around and use my guns for anything else other then dropping a dear and a few bowling pins or pop targets. My Beretta AL 390 semi auto 12 gauge shotgun, that’s for home defense. I don’t care who or how dumb you are, everyone knows the sound of a shell being slammed into the chamber makes that nice CHICK CHICK noise almost instantaneously releases a liquid bowel movement in the their pants when they are on the other side of the door or window with burglary tools.
