Meowzer--that is funny. My husband just called, he was going to order us a pizza so I didn't have to cook, but I just feel too bad making the delivery person go out in this weather. I would be suprised if they are delivering at all now. Man, ya'll are making me want one! ~Lol! That's exactly how I felt when I talked to my friend... then we started on peanut butter and banana sandwiches... I was about to leave for the grocery store! But it's better to have a few delivery cars, then everyone trying to get to the store! I don't think I've seen a car leave my area at all today... and I've seen dominos a couple times. :)
That is a good point! I should call the neighbors and see who wants to order with me, justify the poor person's trip. I'm sure before the night is over the county will declare an emergency and they won't be allowed to drive. I was just thinking I should get a shower in case the power does go out--who knows how long it could be out!

No, but I still want to! I had a crockpot full of soup, ate that instead. Did you order? I am watching Two and a Half Men---I know I should hate everything about that show, but I can't help it--I love it, it is hysterical! Also browsing the net for pink riccordia. Wow, they are expensive! Have never seen any locally.
Where are you at in Kansas? My ex-inlaws live on the outskirts of KC. We have made alot of trips there.

Just got out of the loop of which channels have what shows and what times. Lol. Way too confusing for me. We are stationed at Fort Riley, but we live in Manhattan... I know... KSU gets REALLY annoying. I can't even wear my favorite color anymore... :( Purple. So there's pretty much nothing around, not as bad as being in out skirts, but when you go from Sacramento California to here... First time I saw snow was when I got off the plane. The pink riccordia is really pretty though.

Henry and Joe---you two are just naughty! haha
My ex graduated from KSU, so I feel your pain. We had to visit every trip to Kansas. It is a nice campus though. At least you are close to Kansas City (at least I think you are
), I bet there are some awesome fish stores there!
At least now you can say you have experienced a midwest winter--lucky you. My husband was a navy guy, came from SanDiego, he was in shock too! (still is sometimes)
I will have to keep watching for the ricordia, I can't justify spending that much on one polyp right now!

Snow is better than ice, and apparently where I live is expecting a significant icing.

Florida here I come.

As for the Marineland Reef Capable LED Light 24" - 36", this is much better than the marineland double bright led's and I believe Scott from SWF.com said he was using them with success on a reef tank. You can try posting a question in the "ask swf" section to get some more info on them.

. ~Thank you! :) I'm starting the cycle today.
I have a new question though... How cloudy should the water be first starting out? I'm thinking of starting the filter, and I have carbon in it. Would that be alright? I apparently picked up the wrong test kit, so I have to go and exchange it real quick. My specific gravity is 1.021 and that's all I know right now. But setting up is a real work out! I think by the end I got more water on me than in the tank!

I'm thinking of just saving up the $700 for a really good one, especially since it's going to be almost 2 months before I am done cycling. :)

The water should settle in 24 hours....you can run the filter it will be fine, I just would hold off on running any poewrheads until it clears
What are you testing you sg with?

What are you testing you sg with? ~I have a hydrometer that I'm using. Looks like it's 1.020 now. Do you think I should dilute it a little? I added the shrimp, I put 2 in is that too much? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure I got it right. When I was filling the tank, the first bucket I put in looked really really cloudy, so I rinsed it out again and started over? Still looks the same, I'm running the filter now. I might end up getting a different one, the one I got is for 30 gallons, but I think I should go with one of the 25-55?? And my shrimp fell to the bottom of the tank, is that normal?

You might want to look into a refractometer.....much more reliable then a hydrometer.....you don't have to dilute anything.....your sg is actually a little low, but no biggie since you are just starting anyway....1.025 is a good # to shoot for
how did you mix the salt? Is there sand in there? (I was thinking it was cloudy due to adding sand)
And I would go with the next size filter

And I would go with the next size filter ~I knew I should have! Lol. :) I'll head to the store in a little, I've already made 2 runs out there today.
