I bought a frag that had 2 mushrooms on it and i turned it around today trying to find a good place for it to stay and I saw what looks like a small pincushion starfish on the rock.
I know i'm supposed to acclimate starfish for at least 4 hrs and i didn't do it nearly long enough. From my experience with the LFS and my tank, our parameters are almost the same.
Will it survive?

I also noticed that I have little white spots all over my glass, the spots have a yellow center and are NOT spiral.
What are they?

Thanks!

Is the Starfish an Asterina? They seem to be a lot more tolerant of osmotic shock than other echinoderms.
I'd need a picture of the spots to understand what they look like.

Bang Guy, the starfish moved and I think he's under the rock.
The Pic of the spots look like mold b/c my camera is only 2.0 megapixels.(next aquatic thing to be upgraded).
My Nikon FE2 with macro/micro/regular lens would take a bit longer and much more light to get a good pic to come out(i'm still learning).

how do people usually place newly bought frags on rocks so that they don't fall besides using epoxy?
Can you force them into holes?
My lmb keeps rubbing new pcs the wrong way.

OK I found him on my big rocks. He is about 1/4 of an inch diameter.
He is moving. Is he unsafe for my zoos and mushrooms?

GOOD NEW NEWS!
I found the second half of the hitchhiking starfish on another rock. NOW i have two starfish.
Bang Guy: You were right, they are Asterina Starfish. I looked up some info and there they were. I am keeping an eye on them just in case they start sitting on my corals.
