WOW....usually they shrivel up when they expel waste....it's hard to tell from pic, but doesn't look mushy...is it?

How long have you had it?
What are your water parameters?
What type of lighting do you have?
How old is tank?

I've had it for about 2 months.
My water all tested good. Nitrate is at 5.0 Everything else perfect.
lights are pc. all bulbs less then a month old. 2x 65w coralife 50/50, and 2x current 10,000k and blue.
All together the tank is roughly 6 months old.

Nitrate is 5
are you sure or is it .5...check that again
If it is 5 that is NOT GOOD
Also...pc lighting will not work with an anemone...that could be the problem...along with the fact that you should not get an anemone until your tank is a minimum of 6 months old
Put all that together..and you have a problem...

sorry! .5! lol! Breathe in... breathe out!
Not to argue, but I was told by several LFS's that if my lights are good and I have 4 watts per gallon (this is PC I'm talking about) I've got 4.73 watts per gallon. Now, I always think that some of these people just say stuff in order to sell stuff too. But I never know! Everything else is thriving!

You got it!!! Is it still deflated?

It seems to somewhat be open now. My clown is trying to get inside now. Lights just went out. 10:30. I'll give it a few min's and see what happens. still looked the same 5 min's ago

It's not going "poof", it's "moving"....

He probably saw Obama's tax increases coming so he's downsizing while he can....okay, forget that part. They usually shrink up like this when they are moving around the tank. Sometimes they are after a better light angle, sometimes for no reason that we understand. Give him a couple of days.

Well all you can do is leave it...don't try to move it...that will make it worse....let it find it's own happy little spot

ok, cool. I'll keep ya'll posted on this just in case something does happen.
If it was dying, would my clown still try to host with it?

FWIW I have a bubble tip that just did the same thing about a week ago after I fed him....now he seems to be back to normal....I have also seen pics of them looking like this and the clown wrestling to get in....IMO nothing to get worried about yet...although I can only say that in hindsight...I was pretty freaked out when it happened.

I'm confused... I know the OP said he did mean .5, but isn't 5 nitrates not that bad. I know the goal is 0, especially in reef, but am I missing something???
Am I mixing up nitrates and nitrites or something??
I never heard of trates being measured w/ decimals. I'm lost.
