most people keep reef tanks at a salinity of 1.024-1.026
if they get too low, even to 1.021, then some inverts will die although your fish will still be perfectly fine.
many animals like anenomes, i believe are something like 95% water. or maybe that is jelly ifhs. either way, thats still a lot of water so a lot is changede from sudden salinity changes. this goes with salinity as well as just about everything in this hobby; go slow!

Your salt is too high
it should be at .022 to.024
not to much higher

no it is not.... 1.022-1.024 is the recomend salinity levels for a fish-only or a FOWLR tank.... Reef tanks do better with higher salinity. As i said, many types of corals can die if the salinity drops as low as 1.021..... Like for an anenome, they are 95% water.... what do you think happens when the salinity changes and is low? The water pressure is low. The anenome will not survive.
1.024-1.026 is a good salinity level for a reef tank....
not too much lower

i agree with fishieness. .022 is much too low and i would say .024 is suitable only for a FOWLR. any reef or tank with inverts should be at least 1.025. i keep my reef at 1.026.

thanks for the compliments sorry I wasnt here to respond, I was out of town. my salinity is 1.025- 1.026 so that sounds good and I purchased about 30 lbs of LR and I got about 25 lbs of dead coral from the beach and since I am adding purple up to the tank, it has some good coraline alge growing on it. and 2 of my blennies died
so i dont have as many now. thanks for all the compliments. any suggestions?

now when you say dead coral, are you talking about like live-rock type things? Because a lot of live rock is the skeletons of coral that died many years ago.... or are you talking like freshly dead? lol
did you do anything to clean it.
