Well It's all about the order that you add them. For the first time I'm actulley going attempt to have a peaceful tank in my reef tank!!! See in my 75 gallon I made the mistake of adding a territorial yelllow tang first, then basically I had to add a more aggresive fish each time so that it could survive. If you do it the other way and add all your peaceful fish first and then add your aggresive fish then it usually works. But in your 24 gallon tank, most fish that small aren't very aggresive. The big aggresive families are triggers, lions, groupers, etc.. and those would get too big for a 24. If you gave me some fish taht you would like to keep I could give you my oppinion on those.

Blue Reef Chromis Damsel, Percula Clown (aquacultured), Jewel Damsel, Blue Hippo Tang, Yellow Tang, Vlamingi Tang, Lubbock’s Fairy Wrasse, Royal Gamma Basslet, Blue Koran Angel (Juvenile), and the Tobacco Basslet. They are all different and i dont plan on haveing any more that a few at a time but these are all my favorites so if you have any info that would be great!

Okay here we go. Hate to break it to you but the angels and tangs would get too big. The Blue Reef Chromis's are awesome. They eat aggresivly and are relatively hardy fish I have 2 in my 12 gallon nano at the moment. The Percula Clowns are an awesome edition as well, I'd recommend you get 2 of them, instead of just 1. Also I have aquacultured ones now (basically means they were raised in a tank - if you didn't know) and they don't really act like clowns. The main thing I like about saltwater is that the fish act more normal instead of everytime you walk in constantly begging for food. So if you have the $$ I'd get 2 non-aquacultured perculas, my aquacultured ones won't even host an anemone!! Those clowns are also very hardy fish. The damsel is very hard but incredibly aggresive, so I'd steer away from him. The Tobacco gets up to 7" so he would be too big for your tank. The Blue Koran Angel would definitly be too big, same with the fairy wrasse.

The families of fish I'd recommend for that size tank are smaller basslets like the royal gramma, clowns, cardinals, smaller gobies, hawkfish, dottybacks, and firefish.

well for the most part damsels are extremely aggresive, so if you really want them, I'd suggest you add them last. Go clownfish, then gramma, then damsel. I personally have never had a royal gramma, but I've heard they can be shy.

o is the blue chromis damsel all that aggressive? I'll probably put in clown(s) a royal gamma and a blue chromis (if theyre not too bad) my favorite fish is the mandarine goby but thats outta the picture lol its kinda hard to take care of

lol sorry I forgot that the chromis are included in the damsel family, no they're not that aggresive, and my mistake I've never had a blue reef chromis, I've had green chromises.

ya the mandarin goby aka dragonette is very hard to take care of because you need a tank so established that it basically has its only supply of pods (not exactly sure what they are but they come from a really really established tank) because thats all it eats!!! Some people have got them to eat frozen foods, but its very rare. I had one in my 12 gallon for about a month, but it ended up dying
But compared to my 12 gallon my new 40 gallon reef is going to be much more natural so hopefully, after like 6 months, I might add one in there.

Reefman chromis are great and I have never had a problem with them, also if you are looking to save some money you could try to mix some base rock with your LR. I get it for about a dollar a lb. I mixed about 40 lbs of LR and 40 lbs of base in my 55. Just an option. Not everyone likes the look, but it doesn't take long to overgrow with life.
