What size tank again? Do you have a pic of your stand with the doors open?

I was trying to put a 20g under my stand for a sump. The middle brace is in the way and I am not going to try removing it.

Flower, Meowzer, I was floating around after reading about the space constraints, and thought this might be of interest to you guys especially, and anyone else who might be in the same boat.....Marc's pages are very good and informative....Check it out it might give you some ideas. http://www.melevsreef.com/acrylics/s...plit_sump.html
Is this guy available for hire? Think he'll come to Oklahoma......I am gonna get my pricey skimmer when it comes in stock, and HOPEFULLY be good

You could get more than a 20 gallon under there....You have any friends willing to help???

The door opens to 16 x 21 there is a center piece that is about 6 inches wide. A box the size of a 20g will not go in there, in the picture, the tank is a 10g holding my RO water for the ATO. I don't mind having a display refugium, I kind of like the idea, it will cost the same regardless, except for a stand.
So now I have to purchase each component until I have all the equipment together to do it. For now it is a contemplation of what critters to put in there, a way to occupy my time as I gather what I need.
It’s kind of exciting; I haven’t set up a new tank in years. I may even look into a used tank and stand for my project. Then all I need is the overflow box and tubing or PVC pipe, depending on if My ex is really going to help or not.
Everyone of you guys has been such a help. I feel so confident now that I will be able to do this.
THANK YOU!

Have you thought about the long dimension of the refugium going for and aft with the back end sticking out. that way the overflow drain would have a straight shot to the refugium.
a 30g wall mart container is $10 and is 32"x20'x14. 20g little cheaper and has a 24x18x17 size.
Or just puting the regutium behind the tank and have it drain to a sump in the stand?
