Help with a rebuild!

And lastly- Just another little weekend "Renovation" project.
This one was easy. I just wanted to add a little bit of interest to a VERY dull wall. I like our house but it is VERY vanilla. We are architecturally challenged in the fact that there is nothing "fun" or "detailed" about this house. It's strictly utilitarian. And that is why I like it. I am a DIYer... as everyone has seen by now.
I was originally painting a pattern on this wall, and then I decided that the impact was not great enough.
So this weekend, we did this.
I am keeping the grey color (I think) but scraping the pattern. The screw holes will be filled and the edges will be caulked and then the trim will be painted. Then the walls, and topped with crown moulding. I am going to do something interesting with the ceiling, I DK what yet. Any ideas... lemme know.
The floors will also be redone soon and it will be the tile that everyone saw from the bathroom renovation... I think the dark floors with the white trim and grey walls will be really rich looking. The door is an ugly off white, I am thinking I will be painting that HIGH GLOSS BLACK, Like number 10, Downing street <3. Love that door. So pretty. What do Ya'll think?
This was the entry before. I don't think the mirror or the table is moving back. I think I am just going to leave the entry simple. Maybe a coat rack and a small bench or something. We shall see... (Can't wait until these floors are GONE! HATE THEM! AND NEW, THICK, BRIGHT WHITE MOULDING.)

Hey rae, sorry that im late to the party but better late then never right?
House projects look fantastic and so are your tanks. I was reading something in last page and wanted to give my input on clam, lights and angel fish.
Your absolutely right on smaller clams and about being more needy. However, I agree with other user who said new leds will blow mh out of the water. I have seen the demonstrations in first hand.
Also depending on the clam family, light requirements change a bit. I believe deresa is most forgiving and maxima the least.
Angel fish and clams.. I have heard the horror stories but to tell you the truth, I have never had any issues with none of my dwarfs in the past. I guess every fish is different but also it depends on how well you keep your fish fed.

I agree with ya Sip.
I know the LEDs can be great, they were just not great for me. I realize they are not the same but at this point, I am very wary of spending $$$ on something that has already not been great for me.
Once bitten, twice shy.
I can't personally recommend anything that I don't personally know works.
I think every fish is different. There have even been people who have clowns that eat corals... I think you always have a risk, nothing is 100%. Some things are just more risky. I think you will never know if you don't try and push the envelope.
Thanks, BTW, for the compliments! I have finished all of the caulking and I will be painting the entry way shortly, once I decide on a color. I think I may keep the grey, maybe go one shade darker? I dunno. I also like the idea of yellow?

Hi!

Nothing too much going on around here. I got tired of looking at the cyano patches on the sand bed in the 150. Since there is nothing in it, I decided to chemiclean the tank.
Then I will do a buncha water changes.
Cyano is gone. I like to let the stuff stew in the tank for a good while and then I will do some changes.
Tang is not dead so that is good. But he is not totally healed up yet. I am perplexed. I think that he has a small patch of lymphocytes on his dorsal fin? There is some kind of growth there. It's not open and he does not seem bothered. sheesh... I dunno.
And I am not sure if it's a cause/effect from the erythro in the 60... but the only negative side effect is that my LARGE red monti column has pretty much died. I noticed one day there there was a bleach spot. I blew some debris off with a turkey baster and a whole bunch of flesh came off. When I looked next am, there was like this junk hovering around the surface of the monti. I waved my hand around it and BOOM! a whole bunch more flesh has come off.
Everyday the same?
Is this RTN? I have never had it before... There is still flesh there, but the colony as a whole it pretty sad looking. I am just gonna leave it, see if it will recover. If not, I'll frag the remaining edges with flesh and dip them and see what happens. Anyone know what to do about this? have experience???
And also, I smashed my phone :) screen in completely busted lol
How are all of you doing?

Wow..... first off, why is it everytime you change your avatar your eating? Is there something you want to share with the rest of the class? Lol...
My lady's monti did the same thing. With in a week it was all skeleton. I researched and researched it and couldn't find nothing. Now....... she has my colonized purple rim (huge) and my yellow rimed purple turbinara and it is activly dying, quickly. All of her perameters are fine but I am confused and sadened.
So, your foxface has pulled a hudini? Did you look behind the tank? sorry to read, that really bites the big pickle.

I think I need new MH bulbs. I replaced the T5s... but the MHs... they gots to go. :) I think that is why I have the cyano, Phos can't be that high already... no way.
As far as the foxface goes... I think he must have passed and the tank just gobbled him up. Props to my hungry little reef. He was a decent size fish and I have seen hide nor fin of him since... The tank must have swallowed him up in 24 hours or less... eesh
R.I.P. Little buddy :(

.
I will share two things-
One- I am secretly a fat kid.
Two- I really really like danishes.
LOL
This picture is a recreation of the last avatar. It's the same restaurant (Bread winner in Uptown Dallas, TX) and the same type of danish. That other picture is from last summer, so we were at Bread Winner like a few weeks ago and I took a new picture. I am thinking about do one like every year... same picture but like updated. If I ever get married, expect one in my wedding dress hahahahahahaha.
Thanks for the sentiments about the bad luck guys. This has been a rough couple of weeks lately.
I have had migraines EVERY afternoon until late evening. I have never had them before. I am trying desperately to figure out what the trigger is. No such luck. This is why I have been pretty absent from FB, SWF... I am lurking but not posting.
I hope everybody else is doing well!

secretely a fat kid huh???? I've seen some pics that would prove otherwise!
migranes huh? Still renovating the house? Fumes me thinks. I get migranes alot as well but mine is contributed to a tramatic brain injury (TBI) some years ago, (real gross).
what time do these brain aches start?

You said big pickle first.

I'm a fat kid on the inside. lol But I am starting to be a fat kid on the outside... I need to start going to the gym more often. The migraines are making this very hard though.
I am not doing anything to the house currently. There hasn't been any fumes really. The last thing we did was the entry way and that was just cutting strips of MDF. I haven't painted yet but most paint is LOW/NO VOC... Thats a good thought though.
They always come on between 1-4pm. only 2 or 3 times has it carried over into the next day. Usually they are gone at about 11 or midnight. I have had it twice though that it's been continuous for more than 24 hours.
I have never experienced this before... it's terrible. I now understand what people with migraines go through.
When mine starts, it's a very small headache in a specific portion of my head (behind the left eye/nasal cavity or base of the neck or both temples) and then within 20 minutes I have ridiculous sensitivity to sound (not light), and the worst pain ever! So bad it makes me want to vomit!! INSANE!
I have tried OTC migraine meds. Those don't do a thing, so that's not gonna work.
I have heard that cranial massage can really help, so I am leaving in about 20 minutes to go and try this. For an hour, they basically massage all of the weird little "pathways" in your head and it does some weird stuff. I've had friends get them... heard it's great?
I will let you guys know, incase you suffer in the future. I have heard that it can also help allergies.

I have never had acupuncture... Where do you even get that done?
To tell the truth, I don't know a thing about it. Enlighten me?
Just got back from the cranial massage. Not at all what I expected. It was not so much a massage as it was someone lightly pressing on my temples and ears for an hour. Is that supposed to be what it is? It didn't feel bad... I mean it didn't feel good... It was just exactly what it sounds like. I feel no different. I don't want to say that it didn't work or that it's not a thing... lol It just feels that way?
I had a friend get cranial massage a few years back and she explained it to me and whatever she had is nothing like what I just had. I think I may look into this and see if there is a specialist somewhere. I got this "cranial" done at massage envy. Maybe I should see like a clinic or specialist?

So the cranial massage MUST have worked!
No migraine's since I had this massage. I am so happy.
I honestly did not think that this treatment was gonna do a whole lot but... Something helped. I am just extremely thankful.
