OK...I know it has not even been 24 hours...and I placed it in a crappy picture spot
....You can definitely tell where I put the lugols...there is kind of an outline around the white. There is no loose tissue flopping around right now....Again.....the tentacles are out and flowing

The flesh of it looks more retracted tonight than last night but the spot looks like it is bigger than in the pics that you posted last night.. Maybe it is just the way the pics were taken.. I still think something was nipping or picking at it thats what it looks like to me.. could you try to get a similar shot like last night? That would give a better Idea if it has gotten worse or stayed the same...

Well Scott...the problem with that is I moved it so the spot was closer to the glass....thinking this way nothing would be walking...errrrr....crawling by

SO...being so close to the front....and the glass.....screws with my pictures :(
Last night the "flesh" was floppy...loose....waving in the water movement.....tonight it is not.....i am thinking that loose flesh has come off now....I just don;t want to mess with it again so soon

I understand and that I think would be the logical thing to do, Just leave it alone and see what happens.. I dont want you to move it and irritate it more. Just thought that maybe it would give a better perspective if the shot was from the same angle as it was last night. It looks health tho except for the spot where the flesh is missing..

I KNOW......and there is never any sand on it....and as I said yesterday, as much as I look at the tank...night and day, LOL...I have never seen anything on it

I will give it some time.....as long as it doesn't spread I will leave it.....if it starts to spread...well then I will go to PLAN B...which I don't have yet

Well maybe you need to start thinking of a plan B. Maybe if it starts to get worse you will have to frag that part off it so the other will survive. I am crossing my fingers for you that you will not have to do that, but I think you should be prepared for anything....

Then I will need some help from peeps on here....I saved the link from yesterday on how to frag...BUT...I do not have that equipment
SOOOOOO...PEEPS....what household items can I use to frag a tongue coral if I need to?????
OR do I have to break open the piggy bank and go by those odd tools????

Stupid thought here, forgive me, I need sleep. This may not seem as logical tomorrow.
The flesh flap is gone, which reminded me of a human injury. Follow me.....
What about super glue gel? Seal around the dead area? I would think it would stop the progression of it possibly pulling away, seal the edges so that nothing else is inclined to nibble on the flesh and it's something that we use in our tanks all the time.

From wetweb
'The symptom appears to be a sort of polyp bailout... often caused by stress or damage (could be excessive water flow on that side, the coral got
bumped/mishandled, light shock with new lights or sudden use of carbon after an absent period, etc.).
Regardless, with good water quality and regular feeding (you do know that this coral like most
Fungiids needs fed weekly if not more often... else they will starve slowly) the coral will resume normal behavior. In fact, its not uncommon for the wholecoral to swell up (often at night) as a natural mucus feeding strategy. Anthony Calfo>'
Don't know if that gives you any ideas to ponder or not.
