It would be nice if this thread could remain a discussion that can give perspective members an idea of what it's like to be on this board.
Welcoming a new member then trashing him left and right when things don't go so well is IMO not the way to welcome new membership.
This thread started out that way, but a new member reading it can see a two-sided operation going on... we welcome a new member then we all turn on him - and trash him behind his back - when things don't go so well.
The member in question is welcome to continue posting on these boards provided that conversation is kept civil and respectful.
If we want to continue talking about what kind of a community we are (which I think we have plenty of good things to talk about), I'll check back here in a bit and clean up the mess in this thread. If we want to keep trashing him, then we'll deal with this thread a different way.

You make some very valid points (as usual) and I hope incidents like yesterday can be kept to a minimal which really has been the case for awhile now. I very seldom see threads having to be locked. That shows the mods give the members some decent freedom in expressing themselves and that the members keep it civil for the most part. I think the new member yesterday was first to take the discussion to a bad place but I think we could have done a better job in bringing civility back. I’m also not saying anyone was at fault. It was just one of those things that got out of hand at a very fast pace. Live and learn I guess.

I just read that thread, I dont understand why anyone would post such personal info on a public site with out getting to know the members first.
Plus the story is like swiss cheese with the holes in it. It made no sense. I can almost gaurentee No DMV in the state of AZ anyway would issue a narcoleptic a liscence. even on meds. wouldnt happen. And if it did it would be restricted and say so clearly on the liscense. The OP said the DMV never knew about his condition.
I hope the OP doesnt get banned so we can see what other BS stories surface. $500 dollar black tang. Really??

Post the "holes" that you think I had in my story and I'll back them up. I can even post pictures of my narcolepsy medicine. You can go over to the other site that I was banned from, search the forums for my username, and see that I DID have a black tang that died. I posted there that I had gotten one, and that also it had died.

In the pic of my totaled car, look at the far right picture. See how the roof rack is bent backwards? That's damage from the stop sign hitting it and going through the sunroof.

To the OP, I am not trying to be mean or anything but your need to post the experience on two different BB's is not exactly something I would consider normal. Not to say you aren't normal, just if you need to discuss these issues to the degree that you simply didn't let it drop when your thread at that other board was closed, you should really talk with someone rather than post it up on a BB. Being what appears to be either a newbee or someone who may lurk but not post much you gotta understand there are time when a response is meant in good nature and it isn't taken that way. Things can turn nasty pretty quick which is why sometimes you will see a mod slam the door on a thread pretty quick when there doesn't appear to really be anything wrong with the subject or the responses haven't been over the top. They are taking a preemptive step to try to keep things from turning ugly.
