yeah.....I figured that was aiptasia. I can't get that one out though. It retracts into a hole, but I have only seen one other tiny one and I just scraped it off the rocks so I am keeping a good lookout for any more. The little flower looking things were little corals I think but they are gone now so maybe they didn't make it. Ah well. Such is life.
I am starting to see several green feather dusters growing out of my rock. They are really quite a lovely color.

cute lil clown, and the emerald is cool too. i got one but it never comes out so i can see him

Thanks!! He is super cute.....and he is getting some nice darker orange colors the more days he spend in the tank which makes me happy...... am just so stressed that something won't do well in my tank.
Really? Wow my Harry is out and about all the time. He eats everything too! Bubble algae, hair algae, leftover food and all that stuff!! That is like best 8 bucks I ever spent for this tank, lol.

Please do! I really like emerald crabs a lot. I think for such a small animal they have a lot of personality. If I stand too close to the glass and stare at him, he will jump at me with his little claws out. I am sure he is trying to scare me but it just makes me laugh.
He is such a pig, the only thing i worry about is that he could possibly become too large for the small things in my tank in the future. I saw one at the fish store that had to be 3 inches across and they said it had actually eaten some snails and other tiny inverts, so hopefully mine never does or I be having crab legs for dinner!! lol

i wonder how big they can actually get.....

so I ordered a submersible led light that has 20w for in my filter/refugium and when it gets here I will be off to my lfs for some lr rubble and chaeto for maximum nitrate removal!!

One another note.....i am still having some trouble keeping my calcium up. An entire gallon of calcified water is barely having an effect of 20 ppm, so i decided to try kent's marine liquid reactor instead of kalkwasser. i may have a magnesium imbalance because when my calcium goes up my ph drops. well the liquid reactor is all-in-one and has magnesium already......i will let you guys know how it works.

Okay people...I got my first coral frags!!! They are very small but I really like them a lot.
The first one is a pulsing xenia the the store fragged for me for $10 and the other is (I think) an eagle eye zoanthid. They both look healthy and were completely open within an hour of being in my tank.......
Then my emerald crab proceeded to knock to xenia off it's rock....what a brat!! I put it back more securely and it is fine.....
Pics to come tonight!!

ok.....so I reaquascaped a bit because I want to have some corals that are higher light and ones that are lower light so I moved the rocks around so one side of the tank is higher and one is lower.....I will put some pics up in a bit when I get home.....
On an update everything is doing well, I can see some new little polyps growing on the zoos that I bought and the pulsing xenia is doing very well. I am going to check today to see if it attatched to the one of the two rocks that the store rubberbanded it between. I need to get some glue to put it somewhere.....
I read that xenias like to be on the side of something so they can grow up it...is that true? I have an excellent rock if it is......

Yes true about Xenia. Your Cowry is not reef safe by the way.
Someone was talking to me about that......he really concentrates on the spirulina pellets that I put in the tank and has been by my zoos tht I have and never even crawled toward them. Is there something else I have to worry about with him? Or do they have issues once they are in the tank for a while??

Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock.
It is not a reef safe critter and will at sometime do something you won't like. Not worth keeping and losing valuable coral when he decides it's time. JMO

Cool beans. They are fascinating critters the way thier mantle comes up over the shells though aren't they? I would love to keep one if they weren't such a time bomb.
