On this list, the Detroit riots didn't even make the Top 10. The 1998 Denver riots however...

Denver: Super Bowl '98

After the Denver Broncos defeated the Green Bay Packers to win Super Bowl XXXII, 10,000 fans went a little overboard and tears of joy became tear-gas-induced tears when people began flipping cars, looting and destroying the Mile High City. The Broncos' victory and the following riot were selected as top news stories of 1998 by newspaper and broadcast members of the Associated Press. (AP Photo/file/David Zalubowski)

Tigers have the games most dominant hitter, most dominant pitcher, and a huge home field advantage (have you seen the alleys at Comerica?!?) I would have to say the Tigers are going to be favored over either St. Louis or San Fran...
Agreed... But its a game where weird things can happen at any time. I like their chances a lot.
And as for Comerica Park. It is one of the biggest outfields out there. Did you see the Blimp shot last night? It showed the overhead look and you can see the original size of the out field before the put the bullpen out in left field.
I thought for two minutes today about trying to get World Series tickets. But the cheapest ones were like $125.00 each. We have 1/3 season ticket package for the tigers at work, and our seats would have been like $250.00 each. Too rich for my blood. HDTV will have to do. LOL.

So what? Just pointing out the Detroit riots were more than a couple burned couches.

35 arrests and 8 deaths... that's no riot, that's a typical evening in the D.
We're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy (or Aurora, Illinois)...

Strange call because it isn't even raining. I think MLB doesn't want to see the Yanks get rained out if they are losing late in the game...

So NY bench's Mr. $254 Million Man (or whatever the ridiculous amount), and they're getting their butt's kicked 6-1 in the bottom of the 6th. George Steinbrenner must be rolling over in his grave..

Was it a bunch of slumps or was Detroit's starting pitching dominant?
I feel like we have the Yankee's number... beat them in 3 playoff series in 6 years. No other team has ever beaten the Yanks in the playoffs 3 straight times.

I truly believe it was more slump then dominance in the pitching department.....even the dumb announcers said as much, and it was VERY obvious they were for Detroit
Not downing Detroit.......just saying the Yankees were in a definite slump.....HAD THEY NOT BEEN.......I think there would have been more of a battle

But no one else makes $30 million per year nor has the reputation of hiding during the playoffs.
On another note, Yankees fans are kind of annoying in that they don't respect the opponents. Just keep talking about mass slumps and bad calls... no credit to the tigers. This is why people can't stand the Yankees and their fans.

Not to mention that they have an aging pitching staff without power and play in a little band-box for a stadium. It's fine to put up numbers during the regular season but this team isn't built for playoff baseball.

It's unfortunate that Yankees and their fans can't show some sportsmanship and tip their caps to Detroit. We have the reigning cy young and mvp. First triple crown winner in 45 years and likely this years mvp. Add prince fielder, a really good pitching staff and former all stars all over the field. Plus some good young players...
New York simply got beat by the better team.
