That's fine. I only have about 55 Lbs. in my 55g. I plan on adding another 20 Lbs. though. But like I said it should be enough. Adding another 8 shouldn't hurt either.

A good rule of thumb to follow is to put in 1.5 to 2 lbs of rock for every gallon of water. So, a 28 gallon tank should have 42 to 56 lbs of rock.

it's about surface area more than weight if you have a ball rock that heavy but has no holes in it it's not as good as a light rock with tons of holes in it

I think you shouldn't worry about weight / gallons and do what looks good to you, its your tank

but yes the hoyle says 1.5 to 2 per

It's not the actual rock that mandarins need...it's a large supply of copepods...I believe copepods need a lot of rock to stay alive (hide)....and multiply

Rocks aren't the must have here, what you need is a well established tank, probably at least 6 months or so old. Do you still have your wrasse? If so it will have a problem getting its pods as the wrasse will eat them as well.
