That sketch is freakin amazing! I like the deeper tanks, but then again I have an arm span of 6'10" Keep that factor in mind when choosing a tank for sure

I have this strong motherly urge to get some magnets out and put that on my fridge!
There's a program that makes these really need diagrams, it's a free program. But for some reason I can't figure it out.

The tank is the same one is size Crimzy has just I will not be using any MH lights on mine. I figure on 300LBS of LR 400 lbs of sand for my substrate. I plan on stockpiling crap next year for it an getting the electrical system upgraded in the house going from 100amp main to 200 amp.

Wifey and I crunched the numbers I can get the 450 just it will take me getting everything over 3 years not 2. Next tax season I get the rock and sand since they are dead anyway and store them then the next year the stand pumps skimmer sump canopy and lights. Last year the tank and ANYTHING else I need. Total cost is right around 12-13K plus any extra fish I add over what I have now. She wants a seahorse tank next year and my son wants a Nanocube so that is why I have to wait another year on this badboy. Oh well I will do a thread on it alos when it I get it and start it up also.

I thinned out my 150 in preperation for my move. Got rid of my Tangs except for my Yellow and my Niger Trigger. Called experiacne tells me what I had in there was going to be a ICH magnet and do not need that after a major teardown and move. So I sold them to my LFS and he was celebrating since he had people that wanted all 3.

Why don't you switch years 2 and 3 purchases? Like everyone's been saying, a year can be a long time for new products to come out. Besides, if you get the tank itself in year 2, you can put it in the garage and have it as a "muse" every time you go out to work in the garage.

Year 2 I am getting all the other stuff like Skimmer Lights and Pumps plus the Stand and Canopy and the sump etc. This way I can get everything that sits under the tank in place and have room to work on it without that cap of the tank in place on it. Then the last year I will get the tank install it and then plumb it place th sand and rock in it fill it cycle it and transfer the fish and let the GOOD TIMES ROLL.

Wish me luck tomorrow I move my 150 for the LAST TIME. This will be the 5the 5th time I have moved her. I am moving her to the last house I am ever buying and the future home of the 450. Should be a fun 2 days I think. Tomorrow I tear it down and then Sat set it back up.

This is the LAST TIME I Ever try to move a puffer. He died and WIPED OUT MY WHOLE TANK. While they were in transit. Before I could do anything to prevent it. I lost everything my SFE Blue Angel Huma Huma Dog Face Puffer and Harliquen Tusk. Man this sucks in just over a year this is the 2nd time I have LOST EVERYTHING.

I got it set back up Yesterday and I had a Hitchiker in the live rock. I could have sworn under OATH that this fish was dead. But today I see that my Star Blenny survived why he was in the tub with the Live rock that I transported with water. Right now I have a 150 gallon tank with a 3 inch fish.

I hear you there. I got really lucky also. I bought a dollar instant ticket and won 75 bucks. So after checking my Levels Ph was at 8.2 Ammonia was zero already heck I tripled check that one thought my test kit was broken. Nitrites were Zero again Triple Checked. Trates were at 5 PPM. I then took a sample to my LFS to verify the results and they came up the same. So I bought a Vagabond Butterfly and a Blue Pygmy Angel to really give the tank some life. Now if I can sell my riding mower that my yard that I will not need anymore will have a enough to start the restock process AGAIN.

Figured I might as well update this thread. 450 is still on for 3 years from now. However Stocklist has changed in the tank. I have my Emperor Angel again sucker eats me out of house and home along with his BUDDY the Koran both are juvis under 3 inches. Then I have a 3 inch Copperband and a pair of Marron clowns a SFE that when I bought him was 8 inches he is now over a foot easy could that be were some of my missing fish went LOL.
Then there is my Sailfin and 2 Atlantic Blue tangs and my Blue Regal tang all less than 2 inches long. In my 14 qt aka my sons tank is a Rock beaty 2 inches he goes in this week last for the tank will be my Aussie Tusk called I had to get my wife a Birthday present. Yes the Blenny is still kicking in fact he will not let the eel have his home of PVC that is where he lives.
At least I have a frim price on what my tank will cost me with what I want for filter setup and everything in it. Lets just say moving the steel stand is going to BE A ROYAL BITCH.

Except for the Angels when they get to large I will trade them back to my LFS for a small replacement of the same type. When the tangs get to around 5 inches and the Butterfly to 4-5 they will be traded in. Called he needs a source of larger fish and I have sucess growing them out so I will do it for him.

I love my wife But sometimes she drives me mad. She went to the LFS yesterday without telling me. I knew then I was in trouble when she came back with a transport box. She had ordered me for Chirstmas and I will post pics in a couple days when I get time of my Chistmas Present. She got me a Passer Angel. She traded without telling me the Rock Beauty in. She had heard me talk about getting one later AFTER the 450 was set up. However when she got one for 50 bucks that the LFS had hand selected becuase the guy that ordeed it wanted a Adult instead of a Juvi. So I have 3 big Angels now.
Her other suprise on me was not wanted a Blue ribbon eel that the Same LFS has had for 2 months and eating like a PIG. He has been in his own tank on a seperate filter system the entire time there. I will be forced to upgrade to a 220 if she KEEPS THIS UP. Anyone in IL got one they need to get rid of cheap.
