you dont get it because these things probably haven't effected you. maybe you lost in the market but you'll still have your nice home, nice car, all your toys and food to eat. but ALOT of Americans dont. seniors have to choose between medicine and food. John Doe's good paying steel job shipped overseas. Nurses can't afford there own healthcare. poor kids cant afford college. all of these people have been paying attention the last 8 years they see how Bush and the GOP has catered to the rich and the multi nationals, they know what has happened to this country and they are hungry for someone who speaks there language, someone who understands there struggles and most importantly someone who has been there!
THATS WHY NEXT TUESDAY IT WILL BE BARACK IN A LANDSLIDE!!!!!

So, I don't get it because I started working at McDOnalds, worked hard in high school. Earned a chemistry degree, then a medical degree. I did a residency and overall gave up 12 years of my life after high school. I'm an evil rich person? I'm not a "working person"? I'm to be hated and punished by a gov't that thinks it knows better than me what to do with MY TIME, MONEY and LABOR? My pursuit of excellence is for nothing?
Continue to think like the good socialist you are. Then like New York, when all the "rich" folks leave your Govenor will be asking for more money for your state too.

Here is what you're not getting...
It is NOT the Government's job to provide health care.
It is NOT the Government's job to regulate the job market. If Joe can't compete globally then he needs to get a different job.
It is NOT the Government's job to put a poor kid through college. Plenty of poor college students put down the beer and get a job or two to pay for it themselves.
It is not the Government's job to punish the rich to give to the poor. The rich got the largest tax break because they were paying the largest amount.
It is NOT the Government's job to keep a family in a house they can't afford.
It is not the Government's job to provide for a family of 4 making $45,000 a year. Here's a novel concept; don't have 2 kids if you and your wife are pulling in $20,000 a piece. Obviously you aren't ready for a family.
It is the Government's job to enforce treaties and provide for the National Defense.

Oscar: Did you pay for all that schooling in cash, or did the SOCIALIST gummint loan you some money to make it possible? And, of course you don't accept either Medicare or any commie insurance in your practice - only cash paying customers! Get real, folks. You guys like to pretend like it is the 18th century, with unbridled raptorism for an economic plan, but you forget that wealth trickles up, too, and sometimes better. Oh, yeah - all that hi tech medical stuff, who do you think paid for its development - the commie government in Washington, thats who. Try to practice your profession without the advances that are traceable directly back to NIH and NSF - paid for by the evil government.

Must not be too proud of your profession if you think getting a medical degree is 'giving up 12 years of your life'. Give me a break. You did it for the delusion you'd make big bucks as Dr. McSteamy. Do you have a specialty, or you just a GP making less than me because the HMO's won't give you but $25 for that 30 minute exam you expect $85 for?

No. It's their job to degregulate the fees colleges charge so the universities can charge $20,000/year for that education, when it used to cost a third of that.

Reb, your a young guy. Do some searching on the rise of Fidel Castro to power in Cuba. And in that research, take note of Cuba pre-Castro then Cuba with Castro. Let me know then how great Socialism is. It allways sounds cool at first, but has terrible results. Would you really want the government to control how much sugar, coffee, meat, rice, anything that you can buy?? You can only have X amount of gas for your car. You can raise a cow, in your yard, but you cannot eat it.
Just do a little fact checking before you jump too fast on what seems like a good deal. Usually if it's too good to be true.....you know.
Of course, some nut case will jump on this and say "Do you really think it would be like Cuba? Your stupid." It's how it starts.
