a question I have is that McCain supporters and campaign talk about how Obama is going to raise taxes... which is true for only a select group of people... then they say that he backed by the elite and hollywood... whom we would consider rich... So if all these rich people who support Obama don't mind paying a little extra... whats the problem? Is it about the greater good or greed? It seems like republicans have old money and dems are new money...

This select group for example is Exxon, who from what i understand made $4B plus this quarter and paid 43% in taxes. How much more in taxes do you think is fair? Maybe Washington needs to curb there spending.Spreading the wealth isnt fair IMO
As far as Obama not raising taxes on the middle class, lets say for the sake of argument he doesn't raise the middle class tax but he and the other Dems in office let the Bush tax cuts expire .What does that do to the middle class?

Not worried about it... His plans are centered around middle and lower class... whereas McCain's most benefits the wealthy. And I also believe Exxon had a new record profit. Lastly, Palin has determined that a windfall tax is acceptable... I'd say open up avenues for drilling... and tax them. We are still the wealthiest country... we shouldn't have people that live in 3rd world conditions... thats my opinion.

Thats where Obama and I part ways.I don't think just because a company has record profits it justifies him to tax them out of business.Punishing companies that make money by taking from them and giving it away to another class of people who didn't earn it is "Class Warfare"Not only that but I think it is counter productive .It will decrease jobs in the long run.
And i think 43% is more than "Patriotic"

So much for a lighthearted thread
#1 Does anyone honestly think what is good for Warren Buffet is good for you?
#2 Obama signed a pledge to take Government financing for his general election campaign. When he saw how much money he could raise he broke his word. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK HE WILL THINK TWICE ABOUT CRAWFISHING ON HIS TAX PROMISES?
#3 what in Obama's record leads you to believe he will cut the size of Government?
#4 Where is the money going to come from to pay for all the promises? Obama's tax plan didn't pay for all his promises before all the bailouts. Now the Democrats are proposing another 300 billion in stimulus. Even if Obama could snap his fingers and bring all the troops out of Iraq tomorrow that doesn't pay for it and doesn't take into account Obama's plan to increase our levels in Afghanistan.
If you seriously believe Obama is going to cut your taxes you are sooo gullible
By the way, all those rich people who "don't mind paying more", why don't they? The government has a well publicized account where people can send in money above their normal tax obligation. I think it collected around 30 grand last year.

Nice to have you on the "right" side Crimzy...Go out and buy a really expensive Tang for your nice new aquarium. Stimulate the economy, it's what we Republicans do.
I won't bother with Rylan's ridiculous comments in this thread. The PGA Tour (my peoples) is roughly 95% Republican, I'm sticking with them over the jackasses in Hollywood.

Just to make you all so happy I will buy more fish, (and possibly a new camera), and take many pictures that you all can enjoy for years and years.
I think my wife is making reservations for an expensive dinner and a shopping spree. That raise won't go very far.

Take her to goodwill and tell her she can buy anything she wants....that will extend that raise....and shorten your time spent doing useless activities such as looking at shoes and clothes.

Just kidding, (not about the raise part).

seless thread? You decide...
I hope it doesn't bump you into the 250,000 no 200,000 no 150,000 no 200,000 no 250,000. Tax bracket. Well I hope it isn't above the arbitrarily made up number that makes you rich in obama's eyes. Because then you'll be feeding his aunt and long lost uncle.

This guy likes to defend big oil hehe. Notice how Mcwar never tells us any of his plans. All he does is smear and fear tactics on Obama.
