I dunno.... I really hoping I don't look like I'm defending these people, but do keep in mind this is only one side of the story. I like to keep my faith in humanity, so I would dare to say there's definitely more to everything. The article mentions the neighborhood is an affluent one, but even still $12,000 in legal fees (what the neighbors would have had to match what the Trussell's paid) just to keep Spencer within their driveway. That's a sizeable dent to anyone.
Who know's if Spencer had one of his episodes in front of a neighbor's house, and who knows what he could say/done/acted. They say firearms are an issue, so who know's if Spencer rides around pretending to shoot things. Granted he's a 4 year old, but if he was standing in front of my house pretending to shoot, I'm definitely be concerned.
I dunno... The thing that's got me is the article stating it's 3 neighbor's that are making allegations. Sure, if it was one wacko neighbor I could understand. We've all had one, but for all three to be this concerned? There just seems like something more to it.

What little boy have you seen that does not pretend to shoot things? That behavior is very normal. There was a community of people in Berkley that was very peace orientated ( ain't that a shocker!) and there children were not allowed access to any violent toys and anything that resembled a gun. So these little boys were caught playing shoot em up with french bread.
Owning a gun is not against the law (yet) so why should this even be an issue. How many stories have you heard of an autistic child killing people with their parents gun? I am willing to bet their neighbors do not like the fact that there is a gun 30 yards from their ignorant lives, but that is my assumption.

Sure, a group of kids playing shoot 'em up is one thing, but one kid running pretending to shoot things, yelling who know's what is another (this is just a scenario, I feel horrbile for making an assumption like this). I have never witnessed an austic child's outburst, so I can't say if that's something that might have played a part.
I feel there was also some escalation that was omitted from the article. Who know's how many times those neighbor's might have asked them not to have Spencer ride over their lawn, up their driveway, etc on his bike. Something like that would have never made that article.
The gun issue, was either something Spencer did sepcifically, like yell "I'm going to get my daddy's gun" or something, or what some scumbag suggested to help support their case.

I'm glad that the attorney got $12K!! I'll bet he only charged his clients $3K.

I guess
... Like I said, just trying to keep up the faith that most people out there are decent. But you are right, certainly there could be 3 wackos out there living in the same area.
I will stand by that something started this, ran one of their lawns over with the moving truck, they constantly put their trash out too early, etc. Who knows.....
I just got the opinion that the article was written pretty slanted. Dunno... Maybe it's just me... When everyone had that debate on Joe Horn shooting the illegals, I didn't see any slant in that one....

But come on, think about it. Calling CPS, the cops and the guys work. These are a bunch of vindictive woman with too much time on their hands.

That is a link to the community. $600,000 and up. This is not a white trash nieghborhood. I live in a master planned (read neoNazi) community and I could see this happening in our neighborhood. I am only 5 miles from them. Many of the people living here are snobby, holier than thou, JERKS. Thank God the judge did the right thing. We had people taking pictures of the inside of our garage while the door was open, looking for something to complain about. We have lived here about 18 months and have received about 20 complaint letters from our homeowners association. If we weren't buried in our house for over $400K, I'd move in a heartbeat. These people have nothing better to do than complain about others and make everyones lives miserable. I feel sorry for everyone involved here, especially the neighbors that complained. Very sad people...their lives must be miserable.
