No timers on the lights?
I spoke with corey a few days ago about DIY LED's because of the heat issue plus the colorization of the corals. I've been looking for the aquaillumination lights but unable to locate them. May end up building my own set up and starting a new thread on the subject. No time for this summer tho, we will see.

this morning I read several posts from the past on this site and others and found out that smaller fish such as clowns and wrasses typically die from hypo regardless the measures taken. Came home from work and my possum wrasse had died. The clown fish is still breathing very heavily and the dottyback the same. their little guills are going a hunfred miles per hour. I don't believe I will have any fish come Thursday.
I want to bring the salinity back up on the clown.Any words on this?

If your temp is still up I'd bring it back down. Never really heard much about the smaller fish in hypo but will look into that. My clown actually seemed to be the biggest trooper out of all my fish when they were in hypo. He even survived the dreaded day of death when my tangs died after the formaldahyde treatment. I'm thinking maybe 20% water changes for the next couplle of days and slowly bring the specific gravity back up. You just have the two fish left now?

yes, one in the 29 g and one in the 20 g long, QTing two small tangs and the neondottyback. and in the 20 long is the clown. The tangs are the wifes.
The temp in the 20 long is currently 78 degrees. So you say bring it back down?

The temp back up??? Oh you mean in the DT....... Theres no fish in my 56 gallon. and the temp is down from that it took two days because of the corals. Didn't want to shock them by dropping it to quickly

No leave the temp where it is then, I wasn't sure if you had raised it up or not. If you have any spare air pumps laying around I'd use them and try to give the fish as much o2 as possible at this point. Good luck man, this sucks. For future reference look into the chealated (spell check) copper treatments. Much safer from what I hear.

Just a quick note, don't be fooled into thinking that treating with copper is easy. A good test kit and constant monitoring is still necessary.
Still the way I would go though if I had to treat for ******.

Well..... as of 2 this a.m. the MICU is officially closed. The clown fish died at 2:33 a.m. I layed there and watched her thrash around for a few minutes and then she faced me and just laid there and shivered for a few moments and turned on her side and died. I now have no fish I originally started with.
Henry, what type of medication to you recommmed for ******? I have read that there is both ionic and nonionic. What do you think?

I am SOOOO sorry.....I think when we go the extra mile and try to save our buddies.....and "lose" the battle, it hurts a lot more.....Finding your fish dead is always bothersome, BUT I think you know what I mean...I'd much rather find a crispy critter on the floor, or a floater...then go thru all of that and still lose the fish

yes.... I have to agree, thanks. I read that your dealing with some gassy horsies? Thinking about doing this with my 56. I will need to get a chiller, Leaving the tank empty, except for my corals for the rest of the summer, well, middle of Aug.

Sorry to hear about it. This hobby certainly has its downsides.
Well, at least now you can be a little more stress free.
Just out of curiosity, how long had the fish been in hypo before they started having troubles?

well..... they went into hypo on the 14th of April and started having issues about 2 weeks ago. ammonia was never over 5 and ph only fell once or twice but nothing dramatic
