Internal vs external pumps

Meowzer with all the rock work and such you have in the 225, I'm still skeptical 1 MP40 will do it all. JMO. When I look at other build threads in that size range they utilize a tad more.

Meowzer, you'd probably need one Koralia on the other side, possibly two, but I could see you eliminiting 4 easily.
I used to have 3 Koralia 4's and 2 Koralia 2's, plus the return pump and Fluval. Now I have a return pump, fluval and 1 MP40 on 85% Reef Crest mode. Honestly, at times it's a little too much flow in certain areas.
Flower, the flow that they create is much different than your standard powerhead. They have a pulsing current, it's much more like a natural reef.

Powerheads that just move water around don't have oil in them. The internal pumps are what you have to worry about. I have a Mag24 pumping from my sump to refuge and LR tank. Your story is a little worrisome.

I have so much on my plate right now. Starting up the seahorse tank and such. When I'm ready to replace the power heads that will be the route I will plan to take, as long as they are functioning...I'm in no hurry..YET
