As the glitches in the upgrade continue, I suppose that people just gave up. I'm using firefox right now, and its fine for me.
The traffic level has slowed down I think. Its noticeable.
It just takes some getting used too. I've posted considerable less, because I'm just much slower navigating the site.
I still haven't found my favorite button, User CP. Where it showed all the threads I'd posted in...

Its not just getting used to it. There are a lot of things not working with many people using IE (like me). You can't even start a thread in IE, or use advanced posting or search. People encountering this, especially new members, are just not going to stick around for long. Most people are not willing to download another browser just to visit SWF.
There is not User CP, but if you go to Settings at the top of the forum page, you should be able to get to your personal settings preference.

minus the delays in typing, and the weird thing that it does when I try to click in the box it doesn't go where I click. The other IE stuff is working.

The last time they did a major upgrade it took a while for traffic to get backwhere it was. Or so it seemed to me. This time it does seem slower
This is exactly why I have stayed out for awhile. Little harder getting used to the new setup, and hoping they would work out the bugs.

Beth I don’t want to hijack BUT since this I my thread I think I will. A few years ago I was literally told by you if I did not follow rules on the boards I should go somewhere else. I did then and do now respect what you said at that time. I respect you more as a person of conviction for this post

Appears (I said it appears) that they have given up as no fixes seem to be forthcoming, especially in the realm of trying to get the search working and the old threads back to where they can be gotten to.
Again I said appears, only because I have not seen anything being fixed recently.

Henry I think this is a major problem. many old threads are in fact IMO a blue print on how to fix many problems that new and old Hobbyists encounter

Agree here. Not to bad of a problem if you know the thread name you are looking for. It is almost like when everyone thought -- crashed. A lot of very useful information would be lost, just like here. You can google search using
saltwaterfish.com:
as the beginning of you search criteria. Follow the colon with the name of the thread and more often than not you will find it.
But if ya gotta do that.........................................well!!

BUT as you said Henry.....that only works if you can remember the thread name

I have searched for a few things, and since I can not remember the names....well I could not find them....I even tried doing a search with MEOWZER in it.LOL....with as many posts as I have...I think you could guess at the results of that

I have to say, this new forum is a PITA - can't manage to hang around for long or bother to look around much when I do visit.

A lot of people went missing before the upgrade.
I'm find a lot of other forums are slower at the moment as well.
It's also a cycle of forum life. Key players come... key players go... It's a way of breathing new life in the forums. You don't want all the same people saying the same things for 10 years straight. New people. New life. New ideas. New approaches.

Yes, well it is springtime, and after this rough winter, who can blame people for not wanting to hang around the computer.
