well you need a plac for ceopods to hide and repopulate witch is why most people use refuges but you can empty out an hob filter and make it a fuge but you dont need live rock just a place so the pods can safly repopulate away from the mandrine i would buy as many as possable and set up a fuge

Burrito,
Your very next purchase should be a book on SW aquariums, since you can almost type you should be able to almost read. Shame on your parents for letting you have a fish tank. I think you are still in the stuffed animal stage for a suitable pet.

Stuffed animal as a pet, I was thinking more along the lines of a pet rock as the age appropriate pet.

Burrito,
If you are serious about your tank (I do not think you are), go to the library and get a couple of books to do your own research.

He can't take the fish back..No fish store will take back an abused sick fish and take a chance on it with the rest of his stock. Nor can a LFS dedicate a tank for it. It should be dead soon and then no more suffering...Maybe his Dad will get tired of buying fish for his kid to kill and get him a stuffed duck to play with.

Even if it were a single copepod, mandarins will go through 100's a day.

wtf? ant movie? loli bet the fish will live ._. lol if it dont i will start hmmmmm i .... ._. i have no idea what to do next lol care for mah fishy how to take care of FrogSpawns? ._.
I wouldnt reccomend corals untill you can understand how to research and keep a healthy tank and fish.
What kind of lights do you have?(flourescent, Power compact, T-5, metal halide)
This hobby is not cheap. I have 3-500 (i lost count) dollars in my tank and i have a very simple tank.
To be able to give you near (give or take) what live rock, sand, lights, filters, sump, refugium, powerheads ect. would cost, we would need to know what you have already on your setup.
Do you have any way of testing your tanks water parameters?(salinity (salt), nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, temp., phosphates, calcium, etc.)
What do you currenty have in your tank (fish, inverts rock, ect.)
Please, always reaserch a fish/invert/coral you want to buy and make sure your tank can meet its requirements. NEVER buy on impulse unless you are completley sure it will get along with whats in your tank and you are able to keep it alive.
Hunt.
