DEER HUNTING SEASON!!!!!!!!!

Do i like to hunt? Is hunter my first name, of coarse i love hunting. The bow season for deer just opened up and im ready to go out tomorrow morning!!!!
I started hunting 3 years ago, i didnt get anything my first year. My second year i got a 6 point buck on november 15 with a 243 rifle (the gun opener) up north. and last year i shot an 8 point with a 243 rifle as well. This year is the year im hopng to get my first deer with a bow.
So what are some of your guys expiriences with hunting?

I get 4 or 5 does every year. Usually lasts me until June or July. I've been getting lazy the last several years and have been using a .50 cal so I don't have to go find them after they're shot. I used to bow hunt almost exclusively when I was younger. I still sometime will go out for bow season but most of my harvest comes from the .50 cal.

I don;t hunt, but the husband does....
these hang in my fish room

He usually gets a few each year...he hunts bow, Muzzle and of course GUN season....every day he can he will be out there
we have antlers all over the place in his "hunting" room, he tries to stay away from the does, but occassionally he gets them too....

Ohhh poor deer, you should not hunt, stop hunting please. This thread makes feel really sad. I hate to see or hear about hurting or killing animals. They've done nothing to you. :(

I know we should only take enough meat to feed us seriously animals will go extinct if we keep hunting as a prize

Every one has there own opinion
Personally i think Hunting for prize is just fine as long as you follow the regulations on what your hunting. Its not like we go out and shoot every deer we see, usually only the quality bucks (at least 5 points for me but thats my opinion) and i only get two tags a year. I have only shot two deer out of the dozens ive seen in my three years of hunting. (I really can only speak for myself though because hunting laws vary from state to state, and people have differant views on hunting)
Its commercial hunting where you get population problems.
(fun fact: the white tail deer is the most dangrous animal in America.)

Bow season opened here a few weeks ago. I got out the first weekend with my crossbow, but it was too hot, probably why we didn't see anything.
I'm on vacation this week but when I get back I'm planning to go out next weekend since it's opening muzzleloader, followed the next week by regular firearm season. Can't wait....

I guess everyone who thinks hunting is bad should seriously consider where their chicken mcnugget came from.
I think an animal that has lived it's life free range and dies as humanely as possible is a far better choice morally than an animal packed into commerical cages, dehorned, debeaked, detailed, and force fed during it's short life before being slaughtered (which isn't always humane in any respect).
This is not taking into consideration the health benefits of eating game as opposed to meat high in fat and loaded with preservatives and hormones.

....reminds me of a news report I saw once of cows being abused.....OMG...I would have loved to get my hands on thos e a$$holes and mistreat them like that
Honestly....I will avoid (best I can) any type of news that shows this type of thing, breaks my heart, and I know I can't do anything :(

I love meat but im just saying that we need to cut down on what we hunt
I no longer hunt, but even so, I think people who say hunting should stop are misguided in most cases and dangerously conniving in others. #1 There are less hunters and less animals taken every year. Most states are actively seeking people to hunt and most states have had the deer population mushroom dangerously out of control. So why would you want hunting decreased? #2 I disagree with trophy hunting for moral reasons-hunting should be about food, not bloodlust. However, without trophy hunting the already out of control deer and turkey population would explode even further causing the same animals you anti-hunters pretend to care about to slowly starve through the long cold winters, rather than a quick and relatively painless death. To the misguided, I urge you to turn off Oprah and grow up, it's a rough world. To the dangerous leftist who use anti-hunting to try to propel your anti-gun agenda, you're never going to get our guns.

The Whitetail population here is out of control. They really should open the season to all year in this county until populations decline to a reasonable level.
I also wanted to mention there are over 25,000 collisions with deer every year just in NY.
