not me most people in the school i go to are just a bunch of retards who cant think past themselves but weekend after today yipee that way i can watch fish half the day and be on here the other half
My Nephew is a genius, he has the same problem. The other kids are not "retards", they are just into stuff that isn't interesting to you. I bet lots of the kids where you go to school would think SW fish are great, but while you contimplate how to get the SG right they say "ooo...look at the pretty yellow one!"
It is still interaction, you may be smart, but you have to develope people skills too, or the gap will widen. So you don't have to do sports, although exercise is important, you can still hang out with other kids, show them your fish tank or pictures of the fish in your tank. Don't give up on the kids your own age.

flower today everybody except my best friend treated me like something they scraped off the bottom of there shoe and were just acting like general idiots toward me. no flower the other people couldnt be less intrested they dont care about anything i say and wont pay any attention to me if im honest i only need one friend who i can stick up for help and interact with and who will do the same for for me. it doesnt help that i have a temper that goes off like rocket because of past experiences. when im angry you dont get near me. guess the others know im vulnerable because im the slowest weakest and general all round bad at physical activities, im fit enough for my age but the others are just so much more fit, and im just the smart guy of the school who is looked to for answers and then gets insults and attacks as a reward. However when i get home im fine because i have fish and have this site. but yes i guess i suppose i need to hone in on my social skills because im not a kid sort of child i can interact with adults but when it comes to kids my age it is so hard for me to interact. (doesnt help that my mum is over protective and wont let me far from the house at all and i cant go anywhere near were others in my school live or anyone for that matter)

It's a hard age, the kids pick on everyone and if it bothers you they keep it up. Work on that temper...it will not serve you well, and all through life it will be a handicap that will hold you back and drag you down. Sorry but it's the best I can offer you, develope a sense of humor, learn to laugh at yourself and with others, be kind and generous. Remember, smart guys grow up to be their boss some day.

Hi RG,
I read your posts and there are bits where you sound 40 and bits where you sound 10, you are obviously a very smart young man and have a grasp on things that I don't see in my teenage children!! I understand it is hard to be kind to people who are not kind to you and you certainly don't need to waste your time on them. The thing you should remember is to treat people, kids, adults, whoever the way you want to be treated, if they are disrespectful or mean, then you walk away with your head held high! You never know what is going on in someone else's world, maybe a sick parent, or abuse or insecurities or they are simply just trying to look cool in front of other people. I have learned mean people are that way because they've been hurt somehow, but not all those who are hurt are mean. Others will remember how you treat them or reacted and may just do things to taunt you, if you don't give them what they want, it stops and maybe then they will want to get to know you. You sound like a really cool person who is mentally older than his 10 years. Most 10 year olds are not at all like you and you should also keep that in mind (i'm using my 10 year old step son as a reference, he's a great kid, but he does not think or speak as well as you - he's a kid)! Social skills are very important and are something you will continue to develop over the course of your life!! Your last post has touched my heart and while you escape in your aquarium world, people are pretty cool too, you just need to find the right ones for you, believe me, they are out there!! Your mom is wise to protect you, don't be too hard on her, she's just doing her mom job!!!

One more piece of advice - Lying will bring you down and hurt other people.
When you tell a lie it disables any ability for people to take you seriously. And it doesn't really matter how often you lie, it's just as destructive. Personally, I hope nobody suffered losses due to your lies. I don't think anyone took your advice seriously, at least I hope not. I hope you realize that someone can suffer serious losses when you give false credentials and then give someone bad advice.

I'm sorry, but this makes me question the validity of this thread.

He does sound more mature than 10 on that thread but at the same time you never know. He could just be repeating what he heard his parents talking about...

OK, he did mention that he has a very large passion for marine bio... *now this does not excuse* that he WAY exaggerated those statements. But, the advice he has been giving to newbies on this forum has been what basically any other person could give. And c'mon... he's 10.. he has a dream and a passion for it and that's what he thinks he's doing.

Eh, I agree with Bang Guy on this one. I didn't want to bring it up, but when he first came on this website he did say he was a marine biologist, and then he kept asking basic questions about saltwater aquaria that any biologist should know. Right there I began doubting the validity of his claim to be a Marine Biologist. I knew something was up - but I kept my mouth shut.
Anyway, over time RG has started to learn more and more and is WILLING to help others, unlike some of us on here. So, I'm actually proud of him for coming clean and setting the record straight. You got some guts, kid. Just remember though, don't lie anymore, or else I will never take you seriously.
