Went to my LFS tonight with the sole intention of going to look at the great dane puppy that they adopted and saw that they got in a couple of new things today. I couldn't believe it when I saw some rics! They NEVER have rics! I'm getting a ric package from Flricordia next week so I didn't bother buying all of the ones they had, so I just picked two.
Thank God that they were attached to a little piece of rubble so that I could superglue them to a rock.

They started opening up for me, so I took a pic. I'm sure that they will look better after they stop stressing and settle down. One is a typical orange one that looks like it'll split soon. The other... I don't really know what color it is... it looks different under different lighting, but it has greens, yellows and blue in it. Of course, better pics will come after they've settled in....

Well, first of all, it's "rare" for me to be able to find rics in any of my LFS's, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the few that the LFS closest to me got in. The orange one that is about to split was $24.99, and with my reef club discount, it ended up being $21.24. The other one was $19.99 and with my reef club discount, ended up being $16.99. If I weren't getting a package of rics in this week from Flricordia, I would have bought all of the ones they got in.
Another LFS that I go to, they occasionally get rics in, but they want $45 for a single green or blue one and $55 for a single orange one.

$25.00 is probably a good "average" price on them, I would say?

I wanna see pics!

Yeah Kat74 , that is how the LFS's are around here with there ric prices. There is one place that sells Yumas for like 24.99 each but whenever i go they always only got like 3 and 4 on a rock. I dont wanna spend 100 dollaars like that ya know. tHE Other day i bought a real pretty yuma tho from the lfs i always go to and they sold it to me for 18 dollars but it wasnt on a rock. Was just loose and now it has gotten into part of my tank where i cant reach it and there isnt much light :( But the lfs usually charges like 40 dollars per ricordea. Im like um... THATS TOO MUCH. So i rarely buy them and instead pick up a zoanthid frag or something. Sure am glad people stop by my post and check and respond to it. Being Sarcastic. I post new pics and no one still says anything. Hve u checked out out lately ?

Hey Kat, just caught up on your thread. Very nice zoos. I thinking about adding a rock or two and just having a couple of zoo frags growout on it. I saw at my lfs, some zoos, and I really never realized how tiny they were.
And ricordeas are just like mushrooms, most of the time they open wide and happy, and then one day they wont, and the next theyre open again. Just let em do what they think :p

Well, it's about time you showed back up, paintballer!

and don't THINK about adding a rock or two for zoas, DO IT!
I've always thought that rocks covered in zoas are stunning, especially covered in many different colors. You really should do it!

and yeah, the rics today are sooo much bigger and happier. This showed me that I will need to glue the next ones a little further apart to allow for that growth.

Well, aside from the fact that this tank is about 2 months old, I have a great clean up crew and I use my mag-float daily.

Oh come on, now! The FTS doesn't look any different with 2 new rics than it did without them, so there!
No FTS needed.

Let's see.... got some goodies in today that are getting settled in as I type this!

Awesome ric pack from the "Lord of the Rics" himself, Flricordia...
2 very small yumas... two heads of purple duncans.
I darn near superglued myself to death, seriously... My finger was superglued to my fingernail. I dropped a dollop of superglue on top of a ric. I superglued the paper towel to my fingers. Superglued fingers together. You name it, I did it.

Anyway.... pics later tonight once everything is settled in a little better.
