NOPE....never seen any residue whatsoever.....

Lately I've been getting killed with evap!
I'm going through 15g of water using it for water changes and top off a week. Its wierd because its cooler now in Canada and the heating hasnt been turned on
I checked for leaks but couldnt find anything either.
Its so annoying to always have to fill it every morening. I loose about a inch and a half every day.
Should I invest in makinga auto top off?

You have to buy this water...don't you? you can get a small ro/di with a float...in the long run it will probably save you a bunch (time too) :)

wow thats alot of water how big is your tank it says 10g in title but it looks biger. i dont know much about auto top ofs though

Lois, how would I do the plumming for the r/o d/i unit if the tanks in my room

The cheapest ones are around 200 here. I'd still need to make an auto top off system.

OK you got a point there....but you can still get a unit...put it in the bathroom, and make water into a 5G container.....get 2 5g containers.....keep one in your room...one in the bathroom (or whereever)
put a line from the 5G in your room to the 10G with a float
Sounds good in typing

Lois, thats what I was thinking of doing. I already have 35g jugs from big als that I just keep refilling. Only thing I would change is, I'd probably put it in the laundry room downstairs rather than my bathroom lol, it would be an eye soar that I'm sure my mother wouldnt like lol.

How many GPH of a system should I get if I were to buy one? I dont really know how these things work, so any info on them would be great!

Worked 11hour shift today =(.
Yeha I know how to make an auto top off. Wire or plus in the pump to the topoff controller or w.e, put an acrylic hanger over the side of the tank for the top off thing (adjust it to the level you need it), then put a tube going from the pump into the 5g bucket and into the tank.
My questions are mor eabout the ro/di units. Wht kind should I be looking for? Does it have to be both or can it just be r/o water? I thin kthe water I buy at big als is just R/O.

Like whats the difference between staright r/o and di/ro?

Arent you a little curiouse to as why the $10 more unit is that much better? I would be.. well thats what got me into this mess haha.
Why is saltwater better then freshwater? :p
