Can't see the "eggs".
The Xenia is leaning over and that bump will attach to the rock then the area between the bump and the main colony will stretch out really thin and eventually release and the bump will be where the new part will grow a new colony from.
On the candy cane if it is falling over into things that is what you need to correct. If you can do that it should heal eventually providing it has not gotten too beat up already.
Let's see if some others chime in here.

Yeah I corrected it acouple of weeks ago. Used way more epoxy and covered the base of the branch that was previously epoxied to make it more snug and hold in place.
So your just saying leave it be? I havnt seen them puff up like they use to, ever since I glued them back. How long does it usually take to repare itself?
The 3 other heads of it seem to be doing fine except for not puffing up. I sometiems see their little mouths open, so I guess thats a good sign that there still kicking it.
Anything I should watch out for?

Have you changed where they were before? If they are in the same place, yes just let them be, try to feed them a little mysis or something and if they eat they are probably fine.

Ha! i knew they were moving!
Hey kat. my candycanes took about a week to recover from being eaten by my peppermint shrimp. I just didn't touch them after moving them to the big tank and they healed up great and are actually almost done splitting again. have faith, they are resilliant (sp?). You are great at taking care of your tank and I'm sure that with your husbandry they will heal up nicely.

Today, I'm bringing a sample of my tank water to my microbiology lab!
Were testing bacterial motility(wet mounts), so I thought it would be cool to check out whats in my tanks water. Also to freak out my proff, I added some of my newly hatched brine into the sample haha.
I'm going to ask her if I could possibly streak out the water to grow colonies to see what kind of things grow, but I dont think I can since its not regular earth bacteria, and it might have different requirments living in water.
Well see!
