You would have to sanitize the 20G
After you have the tank empty, rinse out really good...fill with water and bleach, let soak a few hours
then empty, rinse, fill with water and a dechlorinator.....soak a few hours
then rinse, rinse, rinse

forget the pheonix, i still think the pheonix is overrated. if you go mh, go radium 20k. but if you wanna be cool like the rest of us, get a t5

YUP...BUT what I have learned so far is this
For a LARGE tank you must have halides to keep a lot of corals, sps and of course anemones
In a smaller tank...T5HO's will be fine, and look good too

meowzer, i dont think thats entirely true. the nicest and largest tanks i've seen on the net are purely t5ho. i'm talking over 24" depth. they sustain the sps alot nicer than mh. of course thats with the right fixture. i've seen ATI fixtures double the par of mh.

Over 24" deep or under???
My tank is 31" deep....Do you think T5's would have worked in that???

yes. it is unbelievable what some t5 fixtures can put out. these are 6-12 bulb fixtures with super coloration.
my 4x24w is way too much in my 10g. ive lost a couple of things from the intensity. i've got over 200 par on my sandbed which many softies cannot handle. alot of my corals have survived because they were under 400w halides
