Glad to hear you finally heard from him.
Tell him there's an old special forces Squid that tells him to keep his head down and his a$$ safe.

I will as soon as I talk to him again. He's exhausted. It's morning there. He went all night on this mission and has to turn around and go into the office. He'll crash hard as soon as he gets still. He works so hard.

lol....we'll see.
He's not completely out of the woods yet. He still has to do the same thing every night til Monday. But...he promised to keep the cell phone fully charged and will text as soon as he steps foot onto the base.

I have to say that I don't know how you do it! Being a military wife (or husband) has to be one of the toughest jobs there is. Thank you to both your husband and yourself.
By the way, I'm still craving brownies!

It's not easy. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. I guess I need to overnight one to you. lol

You are serving just as hard as he is.
I thank you both.
God Speed to you both.

Thank you! A lot of people don't think about the wife and family at home. It's hard for all people involved.

I appreciate everyone's support throughout this deployment. You guys are my online family and am so glad to have you in my life.
Thank you!!!

I actually had no idea that the soldiers over there were even able to carry cell phones. That's really cool. Definitely must make being able to communicate with your loved ones so much easier!
Glad he's OK!!!

It's soo much easier. He also has internet in his room. If he didn't have those, he'd have to wait in line and they have a limit as to how much time you can talk because there are other soldiers waiting for the phone too. With the cell phone and the internet in his room we can talk quite a bit. I'm very thankful for this. Any time that I can hear from him is a reassurance that he's ok.
It's nightfall there right now so he's out on a mission. He texted me this morning to let me know that he's going out and he'll text me when he gets back.

So...Ted's way of being comforting about letting me know he got back ok was sending me a pic from being out on his mission. The bad guys were trying to blow them up and hit the trees right next to them!!! Yeah.....I'm so much better for seeing that pic....NOT!!!!
lol

Thanks! I really can't wait. lol He'll be home for two weeks in November by the grace of God. We were originally told he wouldn't get R&R but some slots opened up and he got one. Woo hoo!
Just have to get through this mission and it'll be downhill from there. I'm already doing all the planning for dinners and things. His request: two full weeks of homecooked food! We've got steak and lobster for the first night with broccoli and carrots. Sauteed portabello mushrooms, onions and bell peppers to top the steak. His favorite meal.

I'm going to be doing a huge Thanksgiving spread with all the traditional foods. All made from scratch.
He's going to be soo spoiled. I'm going to get the smoker started here next week and put on racks of ribs and pork loins.
I'm keeping busy. Lots of cleaning and cooking to do. But it's well worth it!
