Kevin's Tank!!!

IMO that is not overstocked at all. It's a 125, right? I have 11 fish, 3 of them being Tangs, so if you only have one tang you can certainly do some more smaller fish. If you want a "school" in your tank try some Green Chromis, or even a few Anthias would look nice. For me, I'm pretty much maxed out, time to upgrade.

Yes its a 125. Most people have said that its not overstocked but a few have said it is. I feel like its not. Is there anyway to keep 2 angles together? Would I have to add them at the same time?

Not sure about the Angel question as I only have one, a flame Angel and love him! As far as some thinking you might be overstocked, IMO if you run a good skimmer you will be fine. Like I said, I have 11 fish, 3 being tangs and all my water parameters are in check, that is the key. Keep your skimmer cleaned out and do your water changes and you will be good to go.

Ive been in the salt game for a while and IMO 1 fish per 10 gallons is the rule I live by and have never had a problem
add them slowly after the tank has cycled of coarse!!! I added mine 1 per month. Other people may agree or disagree with this ,but It worked well for me.

Ya if there is one thing i learned on this forum it is to take your time. What is your view on 2 dwarf angels?

I'm by no means an angel expert, but I don't think it would be a good idea.

I agree, I also added about 1 fish every month (or two if it was a pair). Yes, took me a while to stock my tank, but it's worth having a healthy tank.
Kevin, I put every new fish in QT for at least 3 weeks. This makes things so much easier if it gets sick or dies. Trying to get a sick fish out of a 125 gallon tank is near impossible.

I have a 40g QT I can set up. I wanted to put a divider in so I can have a small section to QT corals as well to prevent aiptasia and things like that.

Sounds like a good plan. Can't wait to see this puppy up and running.

The painting on the canopy is coming along great and Im still waiting for the last things I need for my plumbing and lighting. I have been thinking about my stocklist and this is what I have come up with so far. Probably added in this order.
tiger jawfish
2 false percs
midas blenny
flasher wrasse
copperband butterfly
foxface
kole tang
flame angel
blue hippo tang
I was also thinking about having a school of blue/green chromis. How many cromis can I have with this list of fish? When should I add them?

Your list looks good. I would add your Flame Angel last though. To make a good looking school I would get 5 or 7 Chromis, but with your current list you are close to max IMO. (If you were not maxed out I'd add them after the Blenny).

I was just reading this thread and thought that I would say that I really like your stock list!

Thanks for the compliment regina. Ok the light connectors that I needed and the clamps came in today. The clamps finally fit so if Im not not too busy I will test the plumbing for leaks tomorrow. Again, whats the quickest and most water conserving way of doing this? If there are no leaks I can start mixing saltwater as soon as possible. In the mean time I will finish painting the canopy and get the lights wired together.

Once you know you don't have leaks just use it to water your plants.
I moved my hose around when I was emptying my tank. Again, I would mix your saltwater outside your tank for reasons I stated earlier in this thread.
Can't wait to see this thing FINALLY up and running.
