Can't wait to see this tank all come together with the tonga!
Sorry about changing the subject, but Regina that is a very nice looking fish in your avatar. Is that a type of wrasse?

Finally got the tonga branch situation taken care of and it should ship soon. My tank has already been running for a month! When should I do my first water change? I have always read to wait until the cycle is done. Last time I checked my water levels I think my tank was at the peak of its cycle. Should I wait for the water change after I add the tonga since that will most likely recycle the tank?

I'd do one if your ammonia reaches 1.0 or more. That way you don't kill off too many critters on the rock.

Tonga will be here tomorrow
. I am thinking about doing a small 5 gallon or so water change before adding the tonga so I am not introducing the rock into horrible water. Does this sound like a good idea?

Added the tonga!!!
This rock is amazing. It was well worth the wait. Here are some pics of the new aquascape and the various caves in the tank. Sorry the water is a little cloudy from the new rock.

When should I do my first water change? After the cycle? How large should the change be? I was planning on doing a 5 gallon change a week once the cycle is over.

If the ammonia hits 1.0 or higher then I would do one. If not, once everything has leveled out it would be a good time to do one before you add fish.
IMO 5gal isn't going to do a whole lot. You're going to want to do one in the neighborhood of 20-30gal.

20-30 gallons per week or just for the first one after the cycle? I think I meant to say 10g a week which is close to 10%.
