Woo hoo a nano forum! It's about time. I've been meaning to put together some shots to show the progress of my tank, and seeing the new nano forum motivated me to do it. Anyone with a nano knows that the hobby get's more challenging as you go smaller in some respects, and that general reefing answers sometimes don't suffice when it comes to nano reefs. It definately deserves it's own forum.
For those of you who have general questions and haven't seen my tank do a quick search for "kitchen nano" and you'll get a couple threads with all the info. I'd love to elaborate on anything, but none of the hardware has changed so I won't include it again.
The tank is coming up on it's one year anniversary later this summer. By the way it's a 10 gallon. Please ask whatever you like as it will save my wife from me droning on about it... who doesn't like to BS about there tank?
All is doing very well, with the exception of my nonphotosynthetic orange Swiftia species gorgonian. I've had it for over three months and I don't believe it's getting enough food despite my best efforts. I think I'll next get a Diodogorgia instead. My only recent loss was a pinky-sized montipora frag that my powerhead knocked over while I was in Hawaii.
My current calc/alk additions are 1/2 gallon full-strength kalk daily along with 8 mLs of B-ionic and 2mLs of Kent's Liquid calcium also daily, but it's constantly changing according to my testing...
Anyway, here's a recent full tank shot...
