And do I see mushrooms? LOL....very nice
I have literally about 100 red mushrooms in my 120gallon so I took a rock from it to add a bit of color. I have actually tried to kill the red mushrooms I have so many. I can safely say from experimentation that Aiptasia X does not kill mushrooms lol! But then I decided since they won't die...I will breed/sell, and retire from the overpopulation of red mushrooms in my tank lol!

I really like the rocks, those are really nice pieces and the way you aquascaped!
I have to wonder, not being into photography either ..why have a button to make it 8 mega pixels instead of 12..who would want that, and what use could it be?
Thanks, I am not sure I have it exactly the way I want it yet. It's like a giant heavy puzzle lol! And when it comes to gadgets and gizmos, I always give it right to my husband, let him figure it out in 2 minutes then he has to teach me. And I retain electronic information like a log.

I have to ask...are they red or a rusty color? I want red but all the pictures look more like a rust.

Ok just Google homemade saltwater fish carnivore food. there are many recieps
Latticed Butterflies are carnivores no matter what you read about them picking at filamentous algae. They are active grazers I believe their small elongated mouths make it possible to pick at small openings on a coral reef for food. In our home aquariums they often have trouble competing with other fish for food we introduce because of their small mouths.
What I would do if you are not going to make your own food is buy a good product like. San Francisco bay brand marine cuisine carnivorous formula. Leave a frozen cub out (do not add water) as it starts to defrost use your finger to make a past(not mush) then use your finger and push it into the rock. He will be getting the nutrition he needs in a natural way. Along with what he gets from food suspended in the water column when you feed the rest of your tank
I'm going to check out the possibility of making a "butterfly" formula. Great idea! But I also like your idea of using a pre-made carnivore food and just shove it into the rockwork. Thx. I suppose when doing so, butterfly pecks a bit out at a time and it lasts for a bit in the rock instead of going straight to the filter.

The same mushrooms look rusty under my halides and red, red under the new 90's pc and vho's. ---> (ex. my very last picture that the hub took)

smaller MP on a camera is to save space on the memory card. Then again, since you can get very large memory cards at a dirt cheap price, got no idea now.

All is well again, day 2 of the set-up. Latticed butterfly is doing what butterflies do...Combing the rocks for anything tasty. I will check in on Friday when I add more to the 90. I make purchases on Fridays, so it will be interesting to see what is available towards the end of the week. It is exciting to not really know what we have coming into the facility then to realize we just got something really cool. I will check in during the week if anything relevant happens. I did adjust the rockwork to its final position.

The rock work is taking shape. I was thinking in the before picture, the rock with the mushrooms on it, if you could have turned it 90 degrees left that it would have made a monstrous cave. I like what you have in the after pic. That one big rock center right that bridges looks kinda scary. I am sure its more stable than it looks in the pic. Loving the build. Thank you for posting the setup. Its really nice to see other methods and such.

I was thinking the same exact thing, the one to the left of that center piece looks suspended in air with a tiny edge resting on it. She's not new at this so I'm also sure it is more stable than it looks.

The bottom right and bottom left rocks are each 30lbs. It's pretty sturdy as far as I can tell. The middle rock is long and has a good amount of contact on either side. I pushed and rocked them into place.. to be sure they won't go anywhere.(If I were to get a convict goby that would be a different story lol)
This is exciting documenting the process. Thanks for checking it out!

I really like the Punctato. I think that is the one my husband really likes. I will have to let him pick out at least one. I like the Eightband Butterfly.(I think I have that right...)
He and I both decided annularis but they are pretty hard to find. (And as I said before, we have to have several in stock for me to be able to buy one, I can't deplete the customer's availability lol) <--which I totally understand!
What is the one in the middle? (Honestly...I am not too familiar with Butterflies)+ (is actually what has peaked my interest in this particular set-up)

Eightband's are corallivores like the Ornate and will also perish in an aquarium. Mixing Butterflies is sort of like mixing tangs, different shapes/colors and perhaps most importantly sizes, will help avoid aggression. Just make sure all those B/F's are well established and eating strong before adding that hulk, in the form of an Annularis or Blueface to the tank.
Two great butterflies that I had were a Tahitian and a Hawaiian Blue-Stripe. However I've really never seen SWF offer much else in the way off B/F's, then what's up currently. That said, I would be all over the Panda, if I were doing a B/F tank. SWF also gets Collare's (White Collar) in from time to time, which would also be a great choice.
